Well here it is folks, it’s the 2nd major on this year's golfing calendar as we look forward to this week's US PGA Championship at the East Course, Oak Hill Country Club, Rochester, New York.

The 156 field with 99 of the world's Top 100 golfers in attendance will all be competing for a share of the $15M prize purse with the winner collecting the PGA Championship title and a winner cheque for a cool $2.7M. This prize purse is TBC & subject to change.

Before I continue with the preview I’m delighted to announce another hat-trick landed at the weekend. Jason Day, tipped at 16/1, made it THREE outright winners in as many weekends for my new Telegram members so I’m hoping to deliver 4 in a row once again this coming Sunday in the Big Apple.

If you don’t want to miss out on any more big winners including my SuperBanker Naps & Specials then why not join us by clicking here and having one month free to try it out for yourself?

Thank you kindly to all members who have joined already as I know a good few of you are from here so once again thanks for sticking with me. I’m sure all my members would be the first to say they are all walking about with huge smiles & packed wallets since we launched last month. I hope to see a good few more of you soon as we continue to bash the bookie together while having some fun watching golf.

Can I also please just add that joining my private channel is a choice. I got some criticism last week for setting up my private channel and for being allowed to advertise it here. I put a lot of work in to the tips I provide and I have done so here for over two years with a very healthy profit. I understand that some people might not want to pay anyone for tips, that's fine, but I too am entitled to be rewarded for the work I do.

If you don’t want to join us I’ll still be providing FREE previews & tips here on the MFT website for our amazing betting community. DP World Tour tips and Major tournament tips will appear here. Members will get them 24 hours earlier and they'll get all my PGA Tour event tips as well as my Naps, SuperNaps, Specials and Competitions.

I will continue to put in long hours of research doing my homework and even more so now to continue that trend & stay one step or two ahead of the bookies and would love you to join us on my channel.

My first year profits of over £3k then £4K in year two are proof that my radar works in one of the hardest sports to predict a winner.

On with the show…

PGA Championship Tips

This stunning East Course will be playing 7,349 yards long this week. It’s a par 70 parkland layout that was completely redesigned by Andrew Green in 2019 so will have a totally different look to the course when this event was held here in the past. Hundreds & hundreds of trees were removed, protests from some members couldn’t stop the lumberjacks & all the greens were elevated & redesigned. The new look venue will definitely suit the big hitters but accuracy will also be key to any success so long straight ball hitting is the way to go around here.

Justin Thomas is the current US PGA Champion and will be at Oak Hill to defend his crown this time around. If you remember last year's dramatic finish at Southern Hills when JT beat the unlucky again Will Zalatoris in a playoff. JT’s winning scorecard read 275,-5.

The weather is forecast to be sunny and warm for the most part with a shower predicted for Sunday's final round. Breezes will peak at around 14mph.

The US PGA Championship will be screened on Sky Sports Golf & Sky Sports Main Event with live coverage starting at midday on Thursday.

So let’s move on with my best selections to win the 105th edition of the PGA Championship in New York.

Patrick Cantlay 22/1 EW Betway 1-8 places

For my first and main selection, I’m going to point you all in the direction of Patrick Cantlay 22/1 EW Betway 1-8 places.

The talented 31-year-old from California is ranked 2nd on the PGA Tour for Total Drives and as mentioned above it’s going to be all about the driver Off the Tee if you ask me. Patrick Cantlay ticks so many boxes this week with a whole host of stats in the Top 5 amongst the world's golfing elite.

  • 3rd Birdie or Better Percentage
  • 3rd SG Off The Tee
  • 2nd Birdie Average
  • 2nd Going for the Green
  • 1st Scrambling from the Fringe
  • 1st Lowest Round.

Apart from the missed cut at the Phoenix Open Cantlay has finished no worse than 26th at the other nine attempts with four of those inside the Top 10. He finished 3rd at the RBC Heritage & 3rd at the Genesis Invitational with 4th place at the Arnold Palmer Invitational also worth a mention. It’s clear for all to see that Patrick Cantlay arrives in New York with stunning form.

He almost won the PGA Championship in 2019 finishing in 3rd place but that maiden major will arrive soon for this consistent all-rounder, it could be golden delicious in the Big Apple this weekend for the 2023 US PGA Champion Patrick Cantlay.

Jason Day 28/1 EW Betway 1-8 places

For my next best selection I’m really liking the chances of last week’s emotional AT&T Byron Nelson champion Jason Day who I tipped at 16/1 on my Telegram channel.

The ever-likeable 35-year-old Aussie has seen a welcome and well-deserved return to the winner’s enclosure at TPC Craig Ranch after a five-year absence and is available at 28/1 EW Betway 1-8 places. Jason Day will arrive at Oak Hill brimming with confidence. and can now relax after a long emotional rollercoaster both on & off the golf course I’ve been going on and on about Jason Day recently and I’ve pointed out that a return to form would only mean one thing, a victory was imminent.

He certainly never let me down. Jason Day won this event in 2015 and then finished runner-up the following year in 2016 so it’s definitely a tournament that gets his full attention and theirs no better way to arrive at a major than fresh off the back of a victory.

On the stats front Day has some good figures to boast, he ranks 7th for SG Total on the PGA Tour this season but I can do much better than that, 6th Lowest Round, 5th Scoring Average, 4th Putting from 10-15 “, 2nd Scrambling, 4th Par 4 Scoring Average & finally 2nd for Bogey Avoidance. I just have a feeling it could be about to get all emotional again for Jason Day when he doubles up in as many weekends with the same number of majors safely in the bag.

Tony Finau 22/1 EW Betfred 1-8 places

For my final outright selection, I’m going to advise Tony Finau 22/1 EW Betfred 1-8 places. I cannot leave out the man of the moment and the 33yrs old giant from Salt Lake City is all over my radar. Again I tipped Tony Finau to win the Mexico Open just a fortnight ago for my Telegram members.

That’s now eight Top 20 finishes this year with three of those being inside the Top 10 including the victory at the Mexico Open. Tony Finau arrives at Oak Hill Country Club with a bag full of tricks.

Check out these stats;

  • 1st SG Approach the Green
  • 1st SG Around the Green
  • 3rd SG Total
  • 3rd SG Tee to Green
  • 3rd Birdie Average
  • 4th Putting from 10-15”
  • 4th Scoring Average
  • 5th Par 4 Scoring Average
  • 5th Par 5 Scoring Average

The figures don’t lie as they say and I’ve previously mentioned that a maiden major could be well within the realms for Tony Finau this year so why not this weekend when he’s crowned the US PGA Champion?

PGA Championship Tips

  • Patrick Cantlay 22/1 EW Betway 1-8 places
  • Jason Day 28/1 EW Betway 1-8 places
  • Tony Finau 22/1 EW Betfred 1-8 places

Nothing against caddy tipping on a members group but surely can’t be right tipping different golfers on the normal column and then tipping on the paid site and then letting everyone know he’s tipped the winner
