Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest will both be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they meet at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.
It has been a relatively slow start for new Eagles boss Pierre Sage, though a win at Fulham and a draw at Leeds in their last three outings point to signs of progress.
They now welcome former boss Oliver Glasner back to Selhurst Park, with his Forest side aiming to respond to a shock 1-0 home defeat to Coventry before the international break.
Dan Ndoye To Be Fouled 1+ Time
For the first leg of a player-based double, I’m backing Dan Ndoye to be fouled at least once. The Nottingham Forest winger has long been something of a foul magnet, and this season is proving no different. Indeed, Ndoye has been fouled in each of Forest’s opening five top-flight fixtures, while he was also brought down once during a half-hour substitute appearance in the EFL Cup.
Even more encouragingly, Ndoye was fouled eight times across Switzerland’s four recent Nations League matches, earning his nation multiple free kicks in three of those contests.
He could find himself operating in the same areas as Crystal Palace defender Jaydee Canvot, who committed multiple fouls against Leeds last time out.
Adam Wharton To Be Fouled 1+ Time
I’m going to pair that with Adam Wharton to be fouled at least once. The Crystal Palace midfielder is extremely effective at drawing fouls, particularly cheap free kicks when opponents get tight to him in the midfield battleground. That is reflected in his numbers, with Wharton fouled exactly twice in each of Palace’s five Premier League matches this season.
There is plenty of scope for that trend to continue on Sunday, given that he is likely to come up against Nottingham Forest midfield duo James McAtee and Ibrahim Sangare, who have committed nine fouls across their eight combined Premier League appearances this term.
