Arsenal vs Leeds

, KO: 12:30 , Emirates Stadium
Leeds

Arsenal will be aiming to get their Premier League title defence back on track when Leeds United visit the Emirates on Saturday lunchtime.

Mikel Arteta’s men won their opening four league games of the season before suffering a chastening 3-0 defeat away at Brighton before the international break.

That setback saw Manchester City leapfrog the Gunners at the top of the table.

Having had three weeks to stew on that defeat, Arsenal will be desperate to get it out of their system against Leeds.

However, the Whites are unlikely to make life easy for Arsenal, with Daniel Farke’s side one of only five teams yet to taste defeat in the Premier League this season.

Leeds have drawn three of their opening five league games, most recently sharing the spoils in a 0-0 draw at home to Crystal Palace before the international break.

How the bookies view it: Gunners to fire back

Arsenal are fully expected to return to winning ways on Saturday, with a home win priced as short as 19/50 at bet365.

Leeds are as big as 13/2 to spring a surprise at the Emirates, while the draw is also considered unlikely at 7/2.

Head to head: Advantage Arsenal

Arsenal lead the overall head-to-head record with 55 wins to Leeds’ 41, while the other 33 meetings have ended all square.

The Gunners cruised to a 5-0 victory when Leeds visited the Emirates last season, with a repeat of that scoreline on Saturday priced at a whopping 33/1 with bet365.

Players to watch: Side with a Saka goal involvement

Having scored in three of Arsenal’s five Premier League games this season, Bukayo Saka looks good value to deliver a goal or an assist against Leeds at 4/5 with bet365.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has averaged 1.93 fouls per game in the Premier League this season, committing multiple fouls in three of his five appearances. With Arsenal’s centre-halves adept at drawing fouls, the Leeds attacker looks worth backing to commit two or more at 11/8 with bet365.

Predicted line-ups

William Saliba remains sidelined with a back injury, while Christos Tzolis and Kai Havertz are unlikely to feature after sustaining hamstring injuries on international duty. Ezri Konsa and Max Dowman are also doubts, though Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber could all be available.

Joe Rodon and Mateo Joseph remain sidelined for Leeds, while Dan James, Harry Wilson and Jean-Matteo Bahoya are doubts.

Arsenal: Raya; Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Guimaraes, Rice; Saka, Odegaard, Eze; Gyokeres.

Leeds: Trafford; Justin, Elvedi, Muharemovic; Bogle, Tanaka, Ampadu, Stach, Gudmundsson; Okafor, Calvert-Lewin.

Anything else catch the eye?

Arsenal are too short to back on their own here, so I’ll combine a home win with under 4.5 goals and Saka to be fouled at least once in a Bet Builder at 20/23 with bet365.

Each of Arsenal’s four Premier League victories this season has featured four goals or fewer, as did their Champions League win away at Napoli.

As for Saka, he has drawn an average of 3.23 fouls per 90 minutes in the top flight this term, winning at least one foul in all five appearances.
