Premier League betting tips

The Premier League returns on Saturday afternoon as Arsenal look to bounce back from their surprise 3-0 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion before the international break.

Mikel Arteta's side welcome Leeds United to the Emirates Stadium with the opportunity to move level on points with leaders Manchester City.

However, should Leeds prevail over the Gunners, they will move ahead of the defending champions and into second place in the table.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur square off at Old Trafford with both Michael Carrick and Roberto De Zerbi coming under pressure in their respective dugouts.

Arsenal v Leeds

Tipster: Grant Heaney

Arsenal will be aiming to get their Premier League title defence back on track when Leeds United visit the Emirates on Saturday lunchtime.

Tip 1: Bukayo Saka to score or assist

Having scored in three of Arsenal’s five Premier League games this season, Bukayo Saka looks good value to deliver a goal or an assist against Leeds at 4/5 with bet365.

Tip 2: Dominic Calvert-Lewin to commit 2+ fouls

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has averaged 1.93 fouls per game in the Premier League this season, committing multiple fouls in three of his five appearances. With Arsenal’s centre-halves adept at drawing fouls, the Leeds attacker looks worth backing to commit two or more at 11/8 with bet365.

Aston Villa vs. Brentford (3pm)

Aston Villa v Brentford

Tipster: Grant Heaney

Aston Villa will be targeting back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time this season when they host Brentford on Saturday.

Tip 1: Both teams to score and both teams to receive a card

A case could be made for either side here, so I’ll instead combine both teams to score with both teams to receive a card in a Bet Builder at 21/20 with bet365.

This combination has landed in each of Aston Villa’s last two Premier League matches.

The same selection also clicked in Brentford’s most recent away league game at Bournemouth, strengthening the case for a repeat.

Tip 2: Boubacar Kamara to commit 2+ fouls

Boubacar Kamara looks good value to commit at least two fouls at 11/8 with bet365, having done so in three of his five Premier League appearances this season.

Chelsea vs. Bournemouth (3pm)

Chelsea v Bournemouth

Tipster: Greg MacLean

Entertainment looks on the cards at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as Chelsea host Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Tip 1: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals

It would be a massive surprise if we failed to see goals at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, making Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals the standout selection at 8/11 at bet365.

Chelsea’s matches under Xabi Alonso have been fun to follow as a neutral so far this season, with their opening five Premier League matches averaging a whopping 4.40 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in four (80%) of them, whilst all five (100%) have gone Over 2.5 Goals.

Bournemouth’s matches have also been good for goals, with Both Teams to Score landing in 4/5 (80%) of their Premier League contests, whilst both of their road trips have gone Over 2.5 Goals.

Tip 2: Draw

Chelsea are unbeaten in each of their previous nine Premier League meetings with Bournemouth (W4-D5-L0).

However, it is worth noting that five of those matches have been draws, including each of the last three – including back-to-back 2-2 stalemates at Stamford Bridge. Therefore, the draw at 16/5 with Bet365 is worth a punt.

Ipswich Town vs. Fulham (3pm)

Ipswich v Fulham
Ipswich Town v Fulham

Tipster: Neil Potter

Ipswich Town return to Portman Road on Saturday when Fulham provide the opposition in a 15:00 Premier League kick-off. Only one point separates the teams after five matches, with both sides showing more attacking potential than their early results suggest.

Tip 1: Over 2.5 goals

The combined underlying totals support a game with at least three goals. These teams have generated 14.78 xG and conceded chances worth 16.36 xGA across their opening ten combined fixtures. Their matches have produced 31 goals, an average of 3.10 per game.

Ipswich's defensive record creates a clear route to Fulham scoring. They have kept no clean sheets and allowed 51 efforts from inside the box. Opponents have created 17 big chances, with Manchester United and Everton exposing problems when attacking the space around the central defenders.

Fulham's low goal return should not hide the quality of their attacking positions. They have accumulated 55 box attempts, while their current xG total is 3.31 higher than their five goals. A correction in finishing would materially improve their scoring record.

The visitors also carry defensive risk. Chelsea and Palace scored three times at Craven Cottage, while Manchester United produced 2.08 xG in the most recent match. Fulham have conceded eight goals despite Leno making several important saves.

Tip 2: Julio Enciso over 1.5 fouls won

Julio Enciso has yet to score this season, but his shooting numbers show why he remains central to the Ipswich attack.

The Paraguay international has attempted 17 shots across five league appearances, the highest total among Ipswich's regular attacking players. Four have hit the target, while his opportunities carry a combined value of 1.26 xG.

Enciso has also created six chances and recorded 0.89 xA. He produced six attempts against Liverpool and followed that with five shots across the matches against Crystal Palace and Everton.

Fulham have allowed 55 shots from inside their penalty area and 20 big chances. Enciso should receive opportunities between midfield and defence, especially when Jack Clarke and Philogene stretch the visitors across the width of the pitch.

Sunderland vs. Brighton & Hove Albion (3pm)

Sunderland v Brighton

Tipster: Neil Potter

The Stadium of Light stages an evenly priced Premier League contest on Saturday as Sunderland host Brighton at 15:00. Sunderland have taken four points from two home fixtures, while Brighton arrive after consecutive league victories without conceding.

Click here to read our full expert preview for this match

Tip 1: Over 2.5 over goals

Over 2.5 goals is the bet at 4/5.

Both Sunderland home fixtures finished below 2.5 goals, but the underlying total reached 5.81 xG. The Fulham match ended 1-0 despite six big chances, while the Arsenal game contained another six and a missed penalty.

Brighton's five league matches have averaged 4.20 goals. Four produced at least three, with their only exception being a 1-1 draw against Leeds. Sunderland have gone over the line in two fixtures, but their latest performance at City showed the attacking level required to contribute against stronger opposition.

Brighton possess the league's leading attack by goals, but they have allowed 8.72 xGA. Sunderland's chance production gives the hosts a strong route onto the scoresheet, while the visitors' volume and finishing provide the clearest route to the third goal

Tip 2: Both teams to score and under seven cards

Brighton have scored 12 times across their last three league fixtures. Their away matches have produced 12 goals, with a 4-3 defeat at Chelsea followed by the five-goal victory at Coventry.

The visitors have generated 22 big chances, while only Manchester City have attempted more shots from inside the penalty area. Hurzeler's side consistently reach dangerous positions even without Mitoma, Minteh and Ferguson.

Those attacking absences are balanced by defensive disruption. Brighton travel without Struijk, while Dunk remains a major doubt. Svoboda has played only four league minutes, creating an inexperienced central partnership alongside Vuskovic.

Sunderland are well placed to exploit that change. They have created 20 big chances, ranking fourth in the division, and their 45 box attempts exceed their opponents' total of 42. Le Bris's side have produced the stronger chance quality in several matches without receiving the corresponding points.

Two clubs under pressure in the Premier League meet at Old Trafford on Saturday Night Football as Manchester United play host to bottom side Tottenham Hotspur.

Tip 1: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals

Manchester United are rightly favourites for this clash, but given how inconsistent they have been, I’m keen to swerve the match result and back goals.

The Red Devils have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their six matches against Premier League opposition in league and cup this term – shipping 11 goals – and should give Spurs hope going forward after getting the monkey off their back by scoring twice at home to Villa last time out.

However, United have the firepower to breach a vulnerable Spurs backline, making the 4/5 on offer at bet365 for Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals stand out.

Tip 2: Bryan Mbeumo to score or assist

Bryan Mbeumo has already got two goals to his name in the Premier League this season, as well as an assist in their 4-0 rout of Sabah FK in the Champions League.

The Cameroonian also got on the scoresheet in both meetings with Spurs last season, and the ex-Brentford man is an appealing 10/11 at bet365 to Score or Assist at Old Trafford on Saturday.
