The Genesis Invitational is next up as the PGA Tour continues its West Coast Swing in California for the second Signature Event of the year.
An elite field is set to tee it up once again, with many of the world's very best looking to etch their name into the history books at the iconic Riviera Country Club.
Genesis Invitational key information, prize money and how to watch
Riviera Country Club has hosted this event consistently since 1973, and it remains one of the most iconic and recognisable stops on the PGA Tour calendar.
Designed by George C. Thomas Jr and William P. Bell, this par-71 layout measures approximately 7,332 yards.
While not overly tight, its angled fairways, deep bunkering, kikuyu rough and tricky greens combine to make it one of the most demanding tee-to-green tests on tour.

What does it take to win at Riveira? Key statistics and angles
The Genesis Invitational has produced a roll-call of truly elite winners, including John Rahm, Adam Scott, Hideki Matsuyama, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, underlining the premium placed on world-class ball-striking.
Riviera is particularly demanding from tee to green. The kikuyu rough makes controlling approach shots difficult, meaning there's added emphasis off the tee and especially, iron play from 175 yards and longer.
Johnny Miller probably described it best, saying: “[It is] definitely one of the greatest, no-nonsense golf courses in the world. It requires a player to use every club in his bag and every shot in his game.”
Key statistics to win at Riveira CC:
- Strokes Gained: Approach
- Par-4 Scoring
- Strokes Gained: Off The Tee
- Proximity: 175 yards +
- Scrambling
Looking at similar tests can also help identify players likely to thrive at Riviera, particularly those that reward accurate ball-striking, difficult greens and a good short-game.
Some correlated courses to consider:
- Augusta National – The Masters
- Torrey Pines – Farmers Insurance Open
- Quail Hollow – Wells Fargo
- Bay Hill – Arnold Palmer Invitational)
- TPC Harding Park – 2020 USPGA Championship

Genesis Invitational 2026 betting tips and predictions
There is every chance that the favourite Scottie Scheffler ends his run of slow starts to clinch his 26th professional victory, while Rory McIlroy also appealed before his odds quickly shortened.
Pedigree matters here – over half of the last 60 or so winners of this event have been major champions, and the obvious correlation with Augusta National only strengthens the case for elite-level players.
Value has been difficult to find in this market, but there are three names who stand out as capable of outperforming their prices, starting with Englishman Tommy Fleetwood.
Here Are Six Tips To Win Big in Golf Betting
Tommy Fleetwood – 18/1 each-way (6 places)
Fleetwood improved round-by-round at Pebble Beach last week to finish T4 in his first PGA Tour appearance of the season, and there were plenty of encouraging signs.
He arguably arrives with his career in the best shape it has ever been, having finally won on US soil at the season-ending and prestigious Tour Championship back in August. That bodes well for him continuing to improve his progressive form around here: T37-T28-T20-T10.
The Ryder Cup star has been hot with his irons – probably the most crucial factor to this week's test – but also, he's among the best on tour in terms of short-game, ranking 1st for Scrambling.
He has all the tools to clinch another PGA Tour title this week.

Hideki Matsuyama – 22/1 each-way (6 places)
This time of year often brings out the best in Hideki Matsuyama and as a former winner of this event and The Masters, he makes plenty of appeal at the prices.
Many expected him to crumble following his agonising playoff defeat to Chris Gotterup in Phoenix, but he instantly responded with a T8 finish last week. That marked his eighth top-20 finish in as many events, including a win at the Hero World Challenge.
Like Fleetwood, Matsuyama is flushing his irons and remains one of the strongest short-game performers in the field (he ranks 2nd behind the Englishman in Scrambling) – a vital combination at Riviera.

Shane Lowry – 60/1 each-way (8 places)
It was tempting to stick with Matt Fitzpatrick again. He only needs the putter to heat up to truly contend for another PGA Tour title. He is similar odds to last week despite finishing only two shots off the places.
However, sticking with the theme of pedigree and experience, Shane Lowry looks overpriced at these odds for a test that should suit him perfectly.
The 2019 Open Champion quietly posted an 18-under total to finish T8 last week, including a bogey-free round in tough, windy conditions.
Those circumstances won't be much different here in the sense that Riviera is one of the toughest courses on tour, and while he has limited course history to lean on, his lone appearance in the last six years yielded a T14 finish. He also has a top-three at Augusta, underlining his potential suitability for this style of test.
It is true that the Irishman has struggled to convert as often as he should have, but the eight places offers solid protection at a venue where class consistently rises to the top.
