A year ago today we lost our leader here on the site, Paul Jain (Mr Fixit).
It's a day to remember the great legacy he left for us on the site but also to spare a thought for his family who will be mourning the loss of their father, husband, son and brother on the anniversary of his passing.

Hopefully Paul would approve of how we've continued to do our best to beat the bookies and he wouldn't expect us to do anything other than that today.
Best bet could be our old favourites Fulham who have done well for us this season. The Cottagers host Bournemouth in a top of the table clash at Craven Cottage which sees Scott Parker return to his former club.
Both sides head the promotion betting with Fulham at 1/2 and the Cherries at 12/5 to win the title outright although just one point separates them at the moment.
Bournemouth go in to the game with just one win in five, but Fulham too have stuttered slightly of late, drawing their last two with Derby and Preston. While Fulham enjoy the best home record in the division, Bournemouth can boast the best away record so it makes this one tough to call.
On their day Fulham look to be the best side in the division, especially if Aleksander Mitrovic is on song. They're 17/20 to win which feels a bit skinny so it might be better to look at them to score two or more at 5/6.
In Scotland, top-of-the-table Kilmarnock could be a good bet in the Highlands where they go head to head with 3rd placed Inverness. Things couldn't be closer in the Championship with five teams separated by just two points at the top but Killie have been the most impressive on the road, winning five and drawing their other two.
Caley have won just one of their last six in the league, drew with Morton in the Scottish Cup last weekend and were knocked out of the Challenge Cup on penalties by Raith Rovers in midweek so all is not well for Billy Dodds' side. That all makes the 17/10 for a Killie win look like a bet worth taking on.

I’m wondering if any ones got any advice/if there’s even anything relevant to this?
I’ve gambled for a good deal of time and also worked in a bookies and have always worked off the principle of gambling with the bookies money and not your own, 2 or 3 times now I’ve managed to build up from around a £20-30 win to a couple of hundred and then lost it…currently I’ve managed to reach £800+ but almost feel “stuck”
My downfall is always getting to carried away and upping my stakes on “naps” and things I fancy or backing to many different selections to keep building the pot but then when one loses wanting to get that money back quickly and often losing more!
I know gambling is gambling and nothings guaranteed but does anyone use any techniques to try and keep plugging away?

Similar to you I try to operate on profits only. To keep it manageable, I use a 10% of the pot as maximum stake, so for example if you’re £500 in profit, the maximum I’d bet is £50. If that loses, you’re down to £450, therefore the next maximum bet would be £45 and so forth. No need to up the ante, if you believe the bet is a “shoe-in”, then be content with winning at reasonable stakes rather than going all in when you and everyone else knows there’s so many variables that can impact your bet i.e. a red card, injury etc. By playing limited stakes that reduces the risk of the above factors having a serious impact.
Also, try limiting the odds too. I very rarely do more than doubles / trebles at 2 to 1 maximum. Normally I aim for around “evens” because a few evens bets in a row you’re in a good profit immediately. Another thing I like is trying doubles / trebles with teams you like that play around the same time so it helps with cash outs and what to lay against your original bet(s) to maximise profit.
If gambling has taught me anything over the years, it’s to be disciplined(have a plan and stick to it)
Hi yaap, not gonna bore folk by going into a big long winded recollection of what I do etc, what I will offer up is this small tip that has 100% helped me- stop seeing it as “the bookies money” and it might help you to be more disciplined with it. The only time it’s the bookies money is when you lose. As soon as your bet wins it’s YOUR money wether it’s profit or not and you should treat it that way. Hope this helps pal and good luck.
All good advice Yaap – nothing to add to that but one of Paul’s many pearls of wisdom and that was to buy something nice for the family when you get a decent win or build up a good head of profit.
Leave yourself a wee bit to play with and you have a nice dynamic that keeps betting more of a hobby/interest rather than a necessity 👍
Thanks for all the advice everyone…completely agree that it is the punters money and not the bookies, I find it easier to manage by creating a bankroll as opposed to withdrawing all winnings as then if you lose a few your back to depositing and it’s harder to keep up with where you stand…long may this community continue to help each other, wish I had more time to post on here but some of the members and their knowledge of certain leagues/teams is amazing! 👏👏👏

Darmstadt should win comfortably in the German 2nd Division this evening, they’re in unbeatable shape and only two weeks ago smashed league leaders St. Pauli 4-0. If they can manage anything close to that performance then this Dusseldorf side in its current poor form will not cause any problems at all. Union Berlin look to have the quality to nick a draw at the least at home against Leipzig. They’re similarly placed in the league, but UB’s home form has been very impressive this season while Leipzig’s away form has been dire. Looks like a recipe for 1X to me.

Like my Celtic corner handicap win yesterday, this is a bet I’ve been doing every week for the past 8 or so weeks. Only once has it failed. I usually double up o2.5 kings (Paksi) with FrederickStad/Asane/Start in Norway but their league has finished. However, Rangers -2 corner handicap seems a perfect replacement.
– Paksi have seen o2.5 goals in 15/16 games this season. They’ve seen o2.5 in EVERY home game(7/7). In fact, they’ve gone o3.5 in 6/7 home games so I wouldn’t warn anyone off taking o3.5 at 11/10.
– Rangers are the corner kings of the entire world! Their 9.23 game average is the best of any club team in world football this year. -2 handicap at home to Dundee shouldn’t pose much of an issue I don’t think. (Rangers -5 handicap at 11/10 is also worth taking on.

I’m on over 3.5 and 4.5 tonight as well as over 1.5 and 2.5 in the first half….unbelievable team and they’re playing bottom of the league in a couple of weeks!
They are a bit of a phenomenon. They have been at it for a few years now since early 2019 when they brought a previous manager back after being really poor consistently in the league.
Most ironic thing about it is they lost their top goal scorer and easily their best player in the summer to Dun Streda and I wondered what effect it would have after the team outscored every other team in the league last year, but it seems their philosophy of basketball football has stood firm.
He’s been pretty honking for Dun Streda too 😂!
Just about bottom of the league Yaap, MTK are a notoriously difficult team to play away from home with only two games so far this season seeing overs and only 8 in the past year from 20 games. Would be a shock to see them stay bottom of the table and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Paksi get beat or draw that game.
