Our BTTS Acca tips are based on statistical analysis of recent performances.
Ajax vs Olympiacos (Wednesday, 20:00)
Ajax and Olympiacos are set for a pivotal Champions League showdown at the Johan Cruyff Arena on Wednesday night.
The Dutch giants appeared to be staring at an early exit from Europe’s premier club competition, but wins over Qarabag and Villarreal have handed them a lifeline heading into the final night of league phase action.
Likewise, Olympiacos have won each of their last two matches, beating Kairat Almaty and Bayer Leverkusen to climb into the top 24.
With both sides likely needing all three points on Wednesday night, there should be no shortage of goalmouth action in the Dutch capital.
That’s certainly been the case in each of Ajax’s last two Champions League outings, having won 4-2 against Qarabag and 2-1 against Villarreal.
Add in the fact that both teams have scored in three of Olympiacos’ last five continental contests, and all signs point towards more of the same in Amsterdam.
Napoli vs Chelsea (Wednesday, 20:00)
Napoli face a date with destiny in the Champions League on Wednesday night when they play host to Chelsea at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Antonio Conte’s side have underwhelmed on their return to this season’s Champions League and currently sit outside the top 24, so they will almost certainly need a victory on Wednesday night to reach the knockout round.
That should lend itself to an open and entertaining encounter in Naples, with both teams to score looking well worthy of support.
This selection would have been a winning one when Napoli edged out Sporting Lisbon on matchday two, while both teams netted in last week’s stalemate at Copenhagen.
As for Chelsea, they currently sit inside the top 8, but if they want to remain there, they will need to come away from this showdown with a positive result.
Moreover, both teams have scored in each of the Blues’ three Champions League away games this season, so that strengthens the case for a repeat on Wednesday night.
PSV vs Bayern Munich (Wednesday, 20:00)
Goals should be on the menu when PSV Eindhoven entertain Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Peter Bosz’s hosts have not yet assured themselves of a place in the knockout round, so they will have to try and pick up a result on Wednesday night that helps them maintain their stay in the competition.
The Red and Whites tend to play on the front foot anyway, so that should lend itself to a free-flowing matchup against star-studded Bayern Munich.
What’s more, the Dutch heavyweights have seen both teams score in six of their seven Champions League matches this season, including each of their three assignments in front of their own supporters.
While Bayern Munich have been scoring goals for fun both home and away this season, Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Augsburg in the Bundesliga highlighted that they are far from bulletproof at the back.
That defensive vulnerability has also been on show in this season’s Champions League, with both teams scoring in five of the Bavarians’ seven matches thus far.
