Norwich vs Coventry, Monday (20:00)

Norwich and Coventry will round off this weekend's English Championship action when the pair clash at Carrow Road on Monday night.

The hosts will be looking to remain on an upward trajectory after winning three of their last four league matches, the most recent of which was a brilliant 5-0 win away at West Brom.

As for Coventry, they will be aiming to strengthen their hold on top spot in the table with a third successive victory.

Pelle Mattsson To Commit 1+ Foul

I’m going to get the bet builder underway by backing Pelle Mattsson to commit a minimum of one foul. The Norwich midfielder is a player who is well known to second-tier match officials this season, underlined by the fact that he is averaging 1.98 fouls per game. In fact, the tough-tackling Danish midfielder has overstepped the mark in 17 of his 21 English Championship appearances this term, picking up five yellow cards in the process.

Now set to face a Coventry side flying high at the top of the table, Mattsson looks like a prime candidate to commit at least one foul during this contest.

Josh Eccles To Be Fouled Once or More

My second selection is linked to the first, as I’m backing Josh Eccles to be fouled at least once during this clash. The Coventry midfielder has shown a consistent knack for earning his side free-kicks this season, drawing an average of 2.20 fouls per game in the English Championship. Eccles’ foul-winning ability has been particularly evident on the road, as he has been brought down in seven of his last eight away appearances, securing multiple set-pieces in four of those fixtures.

So with Eccles likely to cross paths with the aforementioned Mattsson, it makes sense to include him to be fouled once or more.

Both Teams To Receive 1+ Card

With a keenly contested affair anticipated under the Carrow Road lights on Monday night, I’m going to conclude the Bet Builder by including each team to receive a card.

Although both teams are fairly middle-of-the-pack for card counts this season, their fixtures are still averaging 3.75 and 3.95 cards per game in the English Championship.

It’s also worth noting that referee Thomas Kirk has issued an average of 4.21 yellow cards per game when on English Championship duty this season, booking both teams in each of the 14 matches he has taken charge of to date.

Combined, the above-mentioned selections will engineer an even-money (1/1) Bet Builder on bet365 that looks like good value.

Recommended Bet

  • Pelle Mattsson To Commit 1+ Foul
  • Josh Eccles To Be Fouled Once or More
  • Both Teams To Receive 1+ Card
  • Bet Builder – 1/1 (bet365)
