Seeking to return to winning ways in the Champions League, Manchester City will welcome Galatasaray to the Etihad on Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola’s side suffered one of the biggest shocks in Champions League history when they fell to a 3-1 loss away at Bodo/Glimt last midweek.
That defeat was City’s second in three league phase fixtures, leaving a top-eight finish far from guaranteed heading into the final round of action on Wednesday night.
The Sky Blues did bounce back from that setback though, producing a professional display to claim a 2-0 Premier League victory against Wolves on Saturday.
As for Galatasaray, their 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid last Wednesday leaves them 17th in the standings and in a solid position to reach the knockout round.
Okan Buruk’s side maintained their grip on the top of the Turkish Super Lig with a 3-1 away win over Fatih Karagumruk at the weekend.
How the bookies view it: City set for stroll
Despite last week's shock 3-1 loss to Bodo/Glimt, the bookmakers make Manchester City heavy favourites on Wednesday night, with a home win trading at a lowly 2/9 on bet365.
Galatasaray are an enormous 11/1 on bet365 to emerge from the Etihad victorious on Wednesday night, while the draw is also considered improbable at 5/1 with the same firm.
Head to head: History book blank
Somewhat surprisingly, Manchester City and Galatasaray will meet on the European circuit for the first time ever on Wednesday night.
Galatasaray may take some confidence from having already beaten Premier League opposition this season, having edged out Liverpool 1-0 in Istanbul on matchday two.
Players to watch: Victor offers value
With an impressive return of 13 goals across his 18 appearances in all competitions this season – including seven in six in the Champions League – Victor Osimhen looks like good value to hit the target at least once during this contest at 8/11 with bet365.
Having been booked in two of his last four outings for Man City, Nico O'Reilly looks a touch too big to go into the book again here at 6/1 with bet365.
Predicted line-ups
Manchester City are carrying a heavy injury list at the moment, with John Stones, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Nico Gonzalez, Oscar Bobb, Ruben Dias and Savinho all ruled out through injury. Rodri will also miss out due to suspension, while January recruits Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi won't be able to feature until the knockout round.
As for Galatasaray, Gabriel Sara, Arda Unyay and Wilfried Singo are all sidelined, while Metehan Baltaci remains suspended.
Man City: Donnarumma; Nunes, Khusanov, Ake, O'Reilly; Cherki, Foden, Lewis, Silva, Doku; Haaland
Galatasaray: Cakir; Sallai, Bardakci, Sanchez, Jakobs; Lemina, Torreira; Sane, Gundogan, Yilmaz; Osimhen
Anything else catch the eye?
Given how leaky Manchester City have looked at the back in recent weeks, the 10/11 on bet365 for both teams to score and over zero Galatasaray cards catches the eye.
Both sides have found the net in three of City’s last four Champions League matches, while BTTS has landed in four of Galatasaray’s last five away matches in the Turkish top flight.
On the disciplinary side of things, the visitors are averaging nearly 2.3 cards per game in this season’s Champions League.
