If that was the good football news story of the day the bad news came via Portugal where the top flight match between Belenenses and Benfica descended in to farce. The home side could only field nine players, which included two goalkeepers, after being forced to fulfil the fixture following a Covid outbreak.
Punters were quick to jump on and Benfica raced to a 7-0 half-time lead before the match was abandoned almost immediately after the break when Belenenses injuries, which reduced them to just six players, meant they couldn't complete the fixture.
Hopefully things are little less dramatic on Sunday when there's plenty of top teams in action.
Livingston and Rangers get things started at noon with Giovanni Van Bronckhorst looking to build on the win against Sparta Prague in midweek.
Livi have put a five match unbeaten run together (W2 D3) but usually struggle against the Gers. They've failed to find in the net in their last NINE clashes with Rangers and scoring still appears to be a problem for David Martindale's side who have scored just four at home this season, the lowest tally in the division.

Romelu Lukaku could return for Thomas Tuchel's side while Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw will miss out for United, alongside Rafael Varane and Paul Pogba. That leaves a lot of onus on Cristiano Ronaldo who need to break through the league's meanest defence which has conceded just four in 12 matches.
Chelsea looked nailed on to keep their cushion at the top of the table by claiming all three points at 8/15.
There's little else stands out in the other top flight fixtures. Leicester City's home record (W2 D1 L3) makes them unattractive at 8/13 to beat a Watford side who beat Man Utd 4-0 last week.
Man City (2/7) will likely win comfortably against West Ham – they usually do – but dropped home points against Crystal Palace and Southampton are still at the back on punters' minds.
And know one quite knows what to make of Antonio Conte's side yet. A much-changed, but still strong, side lost to NS Mura on Thursday and it's clear things are not all well in the camp so Burnley could be the value at Turf Moor at 13/5.

Looking for some advice
As we all know the Benfica match ended just after half time and the result was 7-0
I have 3 slips still unsettled
-3 -4 -5 handicap
Bet 365 haven’t settled them and are remaining tight lipped “it is being reviewed and we are waiting to see if the match will resume”.
What’s your thoughts on the situation?
I was informed if the match is said to be done and therefore completed they will pay out

Seems a strange one mate.
Usually(in very unusual circumstances) i’d assume the game would go down as an abandoned match and stakes would be refunded.
But everywhere I’ve looked it seems as if the game has been ‘ended’ and points awarded to Benfica as if a full 90 minute match had been completed.
Can’t help but think some bookies will use the old small print excuse and refund stakes but technically it looks as if they should be paying out for a completed match. Suppose it’s all in the wording of their betting rules.

I did belenenses to score and I will be kicking up a fuss if I don’t get as the game only lasted 46 minutes and bookies clearly say bets are based on 90 minutes plus stoppage time.
As I did it on a betfred BGT machine, if they day it’s not their issue as they don’t set the odds on BGT machines, who do I contact to lodge any complaint if I don’t get a refund ??.
The same machines are in betfred, corals, Ladbrokes etc with the same prices and layout so who would I contact as they are presumably run by an independent company ??
Maybe ADMIN here has some advice if I we don’t get refunded.
They should honour those bets and if it was goals scored then the bets would have trapped before the game was ended.
As they were h/cap bets though, they technically may not have landed if the 90 minutes had played out.
I’d appeal to their better nature!

They are awaiting official confirmation that the match will not resume.
Elvis you would just need to call Fred’s customer service mate. I had an issue where I had a clear winner but the machine settled it as a loser and the staff couldn’t do anything about it. It was a boxing bet and initially they tried to dance around the rules but when I rang customer service they got in touch with the company they rent the machines from and got it changed to a winner.
