Nuno Espirito Santo got his West Ham reign off to a positive start on Monday night but now faces a big step up in class with a London derby against title-chasing Arsenal.
The former Wolves, Spurs and Nottingham Forest boss only had 48 hours to prepare for a trip to Everton after being named as Graham Potter's successor.
But he steered the Hammers to a 1-1 draw away from home, with a fouls double landing for The Betting Desk, and there were plenty of positives for the new manager to take.
West Ham will need an even better display to take something home from the Emirates though, with Arsenal hunting down Liverpool at the top.
The Gunners moved two points off the summit with a gutsy 2-1 win at Newcastle last Sunday and have come through a demanding run of games.
They now have a kinder run of fixtures in the Premier League so Mikel Arteta will be looking to string a run of victories together.

How the bookies view it: Hammers rank outsiders
West Ham United have been written off for this game, with BoyleSports pricing them at 16/1. Arsenal are a tiny 2/9 and the draw pays 5/2.
Recent head to head: West Ham eye shock treble
Hammers fans can take heart from their recent record at the Emirates, with wins on their last two visits. But they've also suffered 5-2 and 6-0 beatings at home to Gunners in the last two seasons so that will counter any over-optimism.
Players to watch: Heads up for Viktor
West Ham have conceded so many goals from headers this season so Viktor Gyokeres will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing them. The powerful Swede is just 20/23 at BoyleSports for a goal but backing him to score a header pays 13/2 at Bet365.
Jarrod Bowen scored West Ham's winner at the Emirates last season and also bagged the first goal of Espirito Santo's reign on Monday. He looks a bit overpriced at 5/1 for another strike.
Probable line-ups
Arteta will probably freshen things up after Arsenal's midweek Champions League clash with Olympiakos. But he faces a selection dilemma in midfield after skipper Martin Odegaard's stunning return to the side against the Greeks. Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke and Piero Hincapie are set to miss out again.
West Ham's injury issues have cleared up and they only have defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the sidelines.
Arsenal: Raya, Timber, Mosquera, Gabriel, Calafiori, Rice, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Eze, Saka, Gyokeres.
West Ham United: Areola, Walker-Peters, Kilman, Mavropanos, Paqueta, Diouf, Fernandes, Magassa, Summerville, Fullkrug, Bowen.
Anything else catch the eye?
Arsenal have scored so many goal from set-pieces and the Hammers have conceded regularly from set-piece deliveries.
Declan Rice puts in tremendous balls from corners and set-pieces so it could pay to back him for an assist at 5/2.
The Gunners have won 23 corners in their last two Premier League games and that makes over 10 match corners well worth a punt at 11/8 with Bet365. Over 7.5 Arsenal flag kicks also pays 19/20 at Unibet.
West Ham put the boot in against Everton, picking up four yellows, so it could pay to back over 35.5 booking points at 5/6 with Unibet.
