Wednesday’s football tips: Cameroon star Mbeumo 9/5 to break his AFCON duck

It's Hogmanay and Europe's top leagues are having a day off but there's some Africa Cup of Nations action to keep punters occupied in the run-up to The Bells.

Group F comes to a conclusion today and it's all up for grabs with just a point separating Cameroon and Ivory Coast from Mozambique.

The top two have identical records so far and it looks like goal difference will decide who finishes at the summit. So Ivory Coast and Cameroon should both be going for goals in a bid to secure an easier tie in the last 16.

Mozambique vs Cameroon top betting tips

Cameroon came into these finals in a bit of disarray after boss Marc Brys was binned just a month before the tournament got underway.

But the Indomitable Lions have been decent so far, with a 1-0 win over Gabon followed by a 1-1 draw with champions Ivory Coast.

They've been pretty solid at the back but now need to go for goals as they bid to seal top spot.

Mozambique played out a thrilling 3-2 win over Gabon in their last game and that suggests we should see plenty of action tonight.

Cameroon are 71/100 favourites but if you add on over 2.5 goals it boosts the odds to 2/1 at Coral.

Manchester United star Bryan Mbeumo has yet to get off the mark at these finals and he's a decent 9/5 with Betway for anytime scorer.

Ivory Coast v Gabon

Gabon have been a disappointment at the Africa Cup of Nations and only have pride to play for against Ivory Coast after losing their first two games.

Losing 3-2 to Mozambique saw Gabon crash out of the tournament so the champions will be looking to take advantage against dispirited opponents tonight.

Ivory Coast have only scored twice so far but they will be going for goals tonight in a bid to pip Cameroon to top spot.

Emerse Fae's side are 1/2 hot favourites but you can boost the odds to 5/4 at 888Sport if you back Ivory Coast to be winning at half-time and full-time.

Manchester United star Amad Diallo has been the main man for Ivory Coast, netting both their goals so far. He's 23/10 at BetMGM to keep that scoring run going but I'm more drawn to an assist at 16/5 with Ladbrokes.

Algeria vs Equatorial Guinea

Group E will also be decided at the Africa Cup of Nations tonight and Algeria should keep up their perfect record against Equatorial Guinea.

The minnows have nothing to play for after losing their first two games to Burkina Faso and Sudan, with Bet365 making them 9/2 outsiders.

Equatorial Guinea have been pretty competitive so far, losing to late goals in both games, and Algeria may decide to rest a few players ahead of the last 16.

So I'm going to combine an Algeria win with under 4.5 goals, which pays 19/20 at Coral.

The North Africans should have most of the pressure and that makes Algeria -2 worth a punt in the corner handicap at evens with William Hill.
