La Liga is back in full swing, and Saturday’s fixtures will feature almost all the usual title favourites and top-four contenders.
The programme kicks off early with a match between Rayo Vallecano and Athletic Bilbao, which could provide plenty of excitement. Later in the day, we can look forward to matches involving Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Today’s La Liga betting tips & predictions
Rayo Vallecano vs. Athletic Bilbao (1pm)
Athletic Bilbao and Rayo Vallecano may be neck and neck in the table with identical records, but their matches are certainly polar opposites.
Bilbao’s matches have been closely contested and low-scoring. For Rayo Vallecano, the goals have been flowing freely, with an average of 3.85 goals per match after seven rounds.
The key points here are that Rayo Vallecano are in phenomenal form at home, unbeaten in 12 consecutive matches, whilst Athletic Bilbao are in excellent form overall. As a result, I believe we can expect at least one goal from each team.

Alaves vs. Atletico Madrid (3:15pm)
Alaves made a phenomenal start to the season, but then failed to win any of their last three matches. Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, enter this match on the back of three consecutive wins and some rather impressive goal-scoring statistics since the start of the campaign.
Atletico have indeed struggled at this ground in recent years, failing to win any of their last four visits. However, before the international break, they looked unstoppable, most recently beating Real Madrid.
The visitors have scored at least two goals in six of their seven La Liga matches so far. There’s certainly a risk, but in my view it’s worth backing them to win.
Alaves vs. Atletico Madrid top betting tip: Atletico Madrid to win
Barcelona vs. Getafe (5:30pm)
No team in Europe has been more dominant than Barcelona at the start of the season. Getafe are known for their strong defence, but they now face their biggest test yet and, in my view, they aren’t ready.
Barca have scored 31 goals in seven matches so far, and that’s unlikely to stop given the strong performances of their individual players during the international break.
I’d particularly like to highlight Lamine Yamal, who has 12 goals and seven assists since the start of the season. In all likelihood, Raphinha will miss this match due to the injury he picked up against Australia, so Yamal will have to step up and score more goals.
Barcelona vs. Getafe top betting tip: Lamine Yamal to score anytime
Real Madrid vs. Villarreal (8:00pm)
Villarreal seemed to be finding their feet before the break, but that will be put to the test against Real Madrid, who have been flawless at the Santiago Bernabeu so far.
We mustn’t overlook the fact that the visitors are yet to secure a win against a team from the top half of the table, so their victories over Levante and Málaga are hardly anything to write home about.
Given their massive defensive problems so far, we can expect plenty of goals in this match. In my view, Villarreal will score, but will lose by at least 3–1.
