If we set aside Bayern Munich’s dominance, the rest of the Bundesliga has produced a huge number of surprises so far. Will we see any more in this round?
The usual contenders for the top four – such as Hoffenheim, Stuttgart and RB Leipzig – haven’t got off to the strongest of starts, and on Saturday we’ll see all three teams in action.
Don’t miss a moment of Saturday’s Bundesliga action with our expert tips and predictions.
Today’s Bundesliga betting tips & predictions
Augsburg vs. Bayern Munich (2:30pm)
Augsburg are the only team to have beaten Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga in the last 47 matchdays. Given the hosts’ goal-scoring form, we can expect another thrilling match.
Bayern Munich, however, look as unbeatable as ever on the domestic stage, having most recently thrashed Union Berlin 7–0. During the international break, their players also shone for their national teams.
Harry Kane and Michael Olise are in a league of their own and, in my opinion, will return to club football with goals. In any case, I expect at least four goals in the match, and Augsburg are certainly not going to be left out of the action.
Augsburg vs. Bayern Munich top betting tip: BTTS, Over 3.5 goals
Hoffenheim vs. Hamburger (2:30pm)
Hamburg seem to be heading for the lower division, as they are currently the team with the fewest goals scored (2). What’s more interesting here is that Hoffenheim are also close to the bottom, despite having qualified for the Europa League last season.
The Kraichgauers won’t get a better chance to win than this match and must make the most of it. One positive is that their only Bundesliga win so far this season came at home.
The same fixture ended 4–1 last season. I expect something similar this time round, and a Hoffenheim win and over 2.5 goals sounds entirely plausible to me.
Hoffenheim vs. Hamburger top betting tip: Hoffenheim & Over 2.5 goals
Mainz vs. Bayer Leverkusen (2:30pm)
Mainz and Bayer Leverkusen go into this match with exactly the same start to the season, which makes this fixture particularly interesting.
Both teams have suffered one surprise defeat each, but overall they are in good scoring form. Interestingly, Mainz are yet to win at home, whilst Bayer Leverkusen have struggled away from home.
These facts point to yet another closely contested match between the two sides, having seen 1–1 and 3–4 results between them last season. In my view, BTTS is the most logical option here.
Mainz vs. Bayer Leverkusen top betting tip: BTTS
Paderborn vs. Stuttgart (2:30pm)
Stuttgart find themselves in an unusual position near the bottom of the table after three defeats in their first four matches. However, it’s true that they’ve had some rather tough fixtures to start the season, so it’s entirely reasonable to expect more from them in the coming matches.
Paderborn, meanwhile, have finally secured their first win since returning to the top flight, and that will certainly spur them on. They’ve also scored their first three goals, having failed to find the net even once in their first three rounds.
This is a tricky match to predict, but in my view it has the potential to be a high-scoring thriller. Stuttgart are capable of it, and they have no choice after their poor start. They need to win, and that can only happen through goals.
Paderborn vs. Stuttgart top betting tip: BTTS & Over 2.5 goals
Union Berlin vs. Elversberg (2:30pm)
Will there be an end to Union Berlin’s problems after the team broke the Bundesliga record for the most goals conceded after four matchdays (17)?
Elversberg have had a phenomenal start to the season, and although their last two matches haven’t been the most impressive, they’ve already proven they’re capable of scoring plenty of goals.
Given Union Berlin’s virtually non-existent defence, I reckon Elversberg have a chance to pick up another three points here, but to start with, I’ll go for over 1.5 goals.
Union Berlin vs. Elversberg top betting tip: Over 1.5 Elversberg goals
RB Leipzig vs. Eintracht Frankfurt (5:30pm)
RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt have not exactly been consistent at the start of the season. The good news for us is that these are two teams that produce extremely entertaining matches with plenty of goals.
Each of the last six H2Hs has featured at least three goals. Last season, RB Leipzig secured two victories, winning 6–0 and 3–1.
Given their seven consecutive home wins, it’s entirely logical to expect another such result. The Red Bull Arena is a fortress, whilst Eintracht’s defence is still far from where it needs to be. So far, they have a negative goal difference after four rounds (9:10).
