The Grand National will steal all the headlines but from early on there's wall-to-wall live football (including El Clasico) and Day Three of what's already shaping up to be a thrilling Masters tournament in Augusta.
Let's deal with the racing first. The National goes off at 5.15pm and is live on ITV. Saturday's Football Tips
Man City kick things off at lunchtime when they can take another step closer to the title. The Citizens need 11 points from their remaining seven matches to secure the title and should make that just eight points with a win over Leeds.
City usually dominate these matches and one way to cash in on their dominance is to look at shots bets and player props. City have more shots on target per match than any other side in the Premier League (5.84) but the line is set at Over 6.5 here priced at just 4/6, however the total shots market appeals a bit more. Over 17.5 City shots is 11/10. They average 15.55 but thats higher at home so there could be value there. Alternatively look to Kevin De Bruyne who is the architect of most the good things City do. The bookies really have priced this one up wrong in favour of the home, promoted fighter when really it is likely to be a competitive fight with the away fighter more than likely to get the W. Lets be real here – Shannon Courtenay is no Katie Taylor or Clarissa Shields to getting priced up at odds of 1/9 etc. Women’s boxing can be uneasy on the eye at the best of times (outside of a select few) and this bout will no doubt highlight it again, but also gives a chance to take advantage of the bookies gift.
Shannon Courtenay is a fighter who prior to turning to the sport of boxing was not living life properly. She was drinking, smoking and taking drugs regularly in addition to working in a pub and was clinically obese, which down the line led to kidney problems. As a professional boxer Shannon has not only been floored in her short career of seven fights but has also tasted defeat against the promising Rachael Ball. You’d have to think that should the fight enter deep waters these will be significant factors to go against her success. As a fighter there is nothing that Shannon does to be justifying her as such a huge favorite in this contest; she doesn’t possess a world class jab, isn’t elusive to hit and isn’t a concussive puncher.
Ebanie Bridges, prior to her boxing career, spent ten years as a bodybuilder and MMA fighter. She has a 100% record from her five fights so psychologically, losing inside a ring is a foreign concept to her. The thing of interest here for me is her MMA backround – Ebanie has been involved in the fight game a lot longer than Shannon so will naturally have a much higher boxing IQ. From the footage I’ve seen she puts her shots together really well, has a decent left hook, can fight well inside and appears to be a natural counter puncher. Ebanie will also be fighting for her homeland of Australia and will no doubt be using this as inspiration to get the victory. A few other things which should sway the fight in her favour… can’t believe I’m saying this 😂 but she is very attractive, is an underwear model and can talk well – essentially a promoters dream because of the huge crossover appeal and marketability potential she will generate. I feel should the fight be close and go to the judges scorecards, Ebanie will likely get the nod because of this.

A disappointing day. My NAP looked to be sailing after a 4th minute goal in the Italian youth league but that’s all there was. In the boxing Ebanie Bridges was well in the contest and after 7 rounds Sky had the same scorecard as myself – 4 rounds to 3 for her but she suffered bad swelling above her right eye which compromised her vision for the rest of the fight and ultimately cost her the fight.
