Liverpool have sparked back to life in the last two games but their revival faces an acid test today when they take on Manchester City at the Etihad.
After a horror slump, the Reds have chalked up impressive wins over Aston Villa and Real Madrid at Anfield within the last week.
But they're now back on the road and face a City side who are looking more like the all-conquering team who have dominated English football under Pep Guardiola.
Manchester City vs Liverpool top betting tips
Guardiola's side have won their last six at home and BOYLE Sports price them at 10/11 to make it a magnificent seven this afternoon.
I would have strongly fancied City had Liverpool not been so impressive against Real Madrid, with Arne Slot bringing back the stalwarts who served him so well last season.
So I'm steering clear of backing a winner today and going for some stats bets instead. It should be a pretty open game and Dominik Szoboszlai looks good at 5/4 for a shot on target after a couple of cracking long-range efforts in midweek.
Erling Haaland's battle with the Liverpool centre-backs will be key to how the game plays out. Ibrahima Konate is the more physical of the two stoppers and combining a foul for the Frenchman with a foul for Haaland pays 8/5 at Bet365.

Crystal Palace vs Brighton and Hove Albion
Sparks usually fly whenever Crystal Palace face Brighton so today's clash at Selhurst Park has the potential to be a cracker.
Both sides are in decent form, with the Seagulls just one point behind Palace in the table, and I'm expecting it to be pretty tight.
The Eagles are unbeaten at home in domestic action this season but they're coming off the back of a Thursday night game in Europe while Brighton will be fresher.
That makes me think it could be worth backing Fabian Hurzeler's men in the one goal ahead market at 20/23, which pays out if they take the lead at any point.
This fixture was fiery last season, with three reds and nine yellows across the two matches, so it could pay to back a busy day for the ref.
Another red card pays 10/3 at BOYLE Sports while backing each team to pick up over 1.5 cards is a safer option at 20/21.
Aston Villa vs AFC Bournemouth
Aston Villa are another team coming off a Thursday night European game and that could make them a little vulnerable against a dangerous Bournemouth side.
The Cherries saw a seven-game unbeaten run grind to a halt last weekend but they still caused Manchester City a few problems in a 3-1 defeat.
Unai Emery rested a few Villa stars for their Euro win over Maccabi Tel Aviv but it's never easy playing on a Sunday just a few days after a big game.
Bournemouth could catch them a little cold so the one goal ahead bet appeals again here, with the Cherries priced at 20/21 in that market.
This should be an open game too and backing both Emi Martinez and Djordi Petrovic to make over 2.5 saves pays 23/20 at Bet365.
