There will be no Sunday Lucky 15 thread. Sunday's racing is fairly horrid with many small fields at Sandown, and nothing is standing out outside of the main thread selections.
It's been a long time since I've seen a well-backed favourite flop in a Group 1 like Convergent did in Munich.
That version of Convergent was not the same one we saw in Ireland and France when landing Group 2 honours.
William Buick didn't manage to keep a lid on the horse, and the horse was very keen throughout. It wasn't a shock when the race unfolded in the straight; he found nothing. Not what you'd expect from a horse backed into odds-on.
Highland's Legacy ran well at Aintree, but bumped into another well-handicapped horse on chasing debut.
He jumped just as good as he did last time out, but didn't have enough track to run down the winner, who travelled better than him.
The other runner on the day was a non-runner up at Kelso.
Norwalk Havoc 4/1 (1pt) – Saint-Cloud 1.33
When the race is full of French horses, it's hard to fully compare the level of form whenever there is an English or Irish raider. However, I was very impressed by Norwalk Havoc last time out, and he gets my vote.
On a few occasions, I tip up horses who beat my previous selection. This happened with yesterday's selection, Highland's Legacy.
Even though it didn't work out yesterday, I think on heavy ground and around a track like Saint-Cloud, it gives Norwalk Havoc a superb chance of winning another Listed race.
My selection came second in the race he won last time out, and I thought that this horse is definitely better than Listed quality races when getting his ideal conditions.
He likes to be ridden from the front, which is advantageous around this track, so I think Shane Foley will employ the same tactics.

It's a shame that I didn't back Day Of Grace the last two times, as I tipped her up on her handicap debut and was a big fan of what I saw.
She looked in love with the soft ground at Thirsk when tipped up, so I decided to leave her alone on quicker ground at Goodwood. She proved that she has class and ability, hence why she has managed to win three in a row.
Last time out was her best performance, winning by 3.25L, and doing it with ease. This is a big step up in quality today, but this filly is bred to be very good and I believe that she has a solid chance of winning this Class 1 race despite needing to improve.

We've seen this script done many times with a Venetia Williams chase debutante, who came from France and was underwhelming over hurdles.
On paper, this is a bit of a risk. He has done very little since transitioning to Venetia's yard, but we all know what this stable is about.
They use the first season as a learning curve, dropping the horse's handicap mark in the process, before going over fences a season later.
He has dropped 16lbs since moving from France, so he is worth trying in a weak race on his chase debut.

At the time of writing, neither of the French selections has odds priced up. I'd recommend not backing them, wait till 10 am and then you will get B.O.G. When I find the odds, I'll update the thread.
