Sunday’s football tips: Newcastle a tempting 5/4 to leave struggling West Ham facing the drop

West Ham United have just two games left to save their Premier League skins and desperately need a win when they head to Newcastle today.

If they can come out on top, the Hammers would move back above Spurs, who play their penultimate game away to Chelsea on Tuesday.

But if Nuno Espirito Santo's side lose, it would give Tottenham the chance to relegate them in midweek so the stakes couldn't be much higher.

Newcastle United vs West Ham United top betting tips

Newcastle still have an outside chance of qualifying for Europe, although it would take a few results to go their way if the Magpies are to move from 13th to eighth.

It has been a pretty dismal season for Eddie Howe's side but they've been showing signs of improvement lately, with a win and a draw in their last two games.

St James' Park is a tough venue to visit, especially when so much pressure on, so I reckon the 5/4 on offer at Betway for a home win offers a bit of value.

Brentford vs Crystal Palace

Brentford were written off as relegation candidates before a ball was kicked this season but if they can beat Crystal Palace today it will leave them on the verge of securing European football.

The Bees sit eighth with only two games to go and will be targeting a home win against the Eagles ahead of their final-day trip to Anfield.

Crystal Palace are gearing up for the Conference League Final so intensity levels could drop a little in their final two league games.

But Oliver Glasner may be tempted to field his top team here then give his big hitters a rest in the final Premier League match just days before next week's Euro showpiece.

Brentford are 4/6 favourites with most firms so it's better going for player bets in this one.

Igor Thiago is out to seal his place in Brazil's World Cup squad and the 26-goal striker is 21/20 at QuinnBet to add to his tally here.

I also like the 6/5 on offer at BetMGM for playmaker Mikel Damsgaard to have an effort on target.

St Mirren vs Dundee United

There's not much to get excited about on the final day of the SPFL Premiership season, with all the relegation issues already decided.

St Mirren were condemned to a play-off in midweek, despite ending their dismal run with a 2-0 win on the road in Aberdeen.

The Buddies now face Partick Thistle as they bid to hold on to their place in the top flight, with the first leg looming on Thursday.

It will be interesting to see how Craig McLeish approaches this game as he'll be wary of picking up injuries but will also be looking to build some momentum.

Dundee United have nothing to play for and they've gone three games without scoring since a rousing derby win over Dundee.

So the Buddies could be worth a punt for a win today at 5/4 with Bet365 while betting against BTTS also appeals at 13/10 with BetMGM.
