Rizz will return on Sunday evening with his selections for Monday's racing.

I didn’t catch any racing on Saturday, but from talking to Rizz recently, he informed me his selections on Saturday ran well below par.

Not much caught the eye as such on Sunday, so I’ll just be having the one selection on the main thread.

Finlaggan 2/1 – Ripon 3.17

I’m a huge fan of young Cieren Fallon as a jockey, and I’m delighted to see him aboard my selection on Sunday for trainer David O’Meara.

I think Cieran gets overlooked a lot, and I’m surprised he doesn’t get more opportunities in bigger valued races. He’s been riding well for William Haggas in recent times, but has been booked on Sunday for the ride on Finlaggan, who I think has a great chance.

My selection originally hailed from France, but has slowly started to come to the boil for David O’Meara and his recent second at Pontefract two weeks ago was a good effort. He only went down by a neck that day, which came on his handicap debut. He has to give some weight away to some last time out winners in the shape of The Cookstown Cafu and Spirit Catcher, but I thought an OR of 70 was potentially underestimating his ceiling, and I think he can close under Cieren Fallon tomorrow afternoon.

The owners of Finlaggan, the Horsewatchers, are a very shrewd outfit. They obtain horses from the big yards at the sales for a respectable price, and then they ship them off to the Yorkshire-based trainers like David O'Meara's. With him running into form, I think it's a matter of time before he finally gets his head in front.

Morning gentlemen. Little stat just thought was worth a share as I’m on one in the same race as yours. I do think yours will be tough to beat I just didn’t think the 9/4 was much value. I’m on Bay Dream Believer e/w at 33s. Just hoping to chase a bit of place money not really expecting the win as the yard isnt in much form.
Mark Walford has been very profitable over the last 12 month or so at Ripon. I’ve backed a handful of his this last year or so at this track managing to find a few nice winners . He has a 40% strike rate in the last 12 months with 8 winners from 20 at Ripon.

Bay Dream Believer loves this track with 3 wins from 6. Winning her last two races here. Course form reads 1,1,5,1,5,2.
She won from a similar high draw here last August. Runs off 59 today. Last two wins were off 61 and 59.

Trainer also won this race last year.

Just hoping she can grab a place today behind Finnlaggan for Rizzle and Cairnzy. But the main reason for this post was to highlight the form of Mark Walford at Ripon. He’s been great to follow there of late.
    All the best lads. CJ.
