THE Betfred Cup continues today with many sides still feeling their way.
My midweek treble won at 6-4 and that gives me confidence to put up another but it's got to be low stakes at this stage.
One I missed in midweek was Stenhousemuir's 4-0 defeat of an Albion Rovers teams that has been rebuilt with junior and amateur players.
Looks like they could take time to gel and adapt to a higher standard and it gets tougher with a home meeting against Championship new boys Ayr.
Bookies have cottoned on though and the Honest Men are no bigger than 1-4 at 188BET and McBookie.
It's not worth backing but Ayr -1 at 8-13 with McBookie is fine for accumulators and Ayr -2 at 8-5 might tempt some single backers.
To Ayr -1 add Queen of the South at 2-5 with Betway. Queens have started well with eight goals and two wins and should add a third at an Edinburgh City side who lost their opener 5-0 to Motherwell.
Talking of Well, they are 2-5 with Betway and again that's a nice price with which to complete a 2-1 treble with McBookie.
Other sides to consider are Arbroath at home to Elgin, Peterhead at home to Stirling and Livingston at home to Annan.
Yesterday's golf bet was a loser as Stewart Cink beat Brandon Stone with a 70 to 72.
There's a packed leaderboard at Carnoustie and Ace has posted a two-ball double and I've picked out one too.
I'm siding with Tiger Woods who has had a solid two days and will be roared round the Angus course today. He is partnered by world No.125 Shaun Norris of South Africa and it will be interesting to see if he can handle the circus better than Scotland's Russell Knox who missed the cut playing with Woods in the first two rounds and admitted it was tough.
Add Tony Finua to outscore another South African Zander Lombard. Big-hitting American Finua was tipped by many antepost and is living up to the billing. He's got the game required to conquer Carnoustie while Lombard had done well to put together two good round after dropping o world No.444 after a season of missed cuts.
Tommy Fleetwood, one of Ace's antepost picks, is now 6-1 favourite with the likes of Ladbrokes and bet365 with Rory McIlroy next in the betting at 7-1.
Third favourite is joint leader Zach Johnson at 15-2 with Betway while Jordan Spieth is 9s and Rickie Fowler 10s.

The Cruiserweight tournament reaches its conclusion tonight in Russia and for the first time in the division there will be a champion holding all four versions of the World Championship as well as getting to lift the Muhammed Ali Trophy and being awarded a huge amount of money. The bookies pretty much have this as a 50/50 fight and I’d have to agree with that, there is not much at all to seperate them but theres a few things I’ve seen that edge it to Gassiev for me. I like the subtle pivots he utilises around the ring; if pressure is applied on him he pivots away out of danger and is quite efficient at absorbing punches on his guard. I also like the way he throws powerful hooks around opponents guards along with frequent use of the uppercut (the accumulative effect of these saw off Dorticos to get him to the final)
Usyk was a very decorated amateur winning the World Amateur Championships and Olympic Gold but his majority decision win over Briedis in the semi final stage was not convincing. Breidis was able to get through with telling shots over and over again. Gassiev is one of the hardest punchers in the sport today and I feel if he is able to repeat what Breidis was able to do he could possibly hurt Usyk at some stage or put him down, which would help if the fight went to a decision

Jaime Munguia vs Liam Smith – Jaime Munguia win by KO 8/13 Skybet **LARGE STAKE**
I’d like to see Liam Smith become a two time champion but it just isn’t happening tonight. Jaime Munguia is the next big star to come out of Mexico. He is being hyped up by boxing insiders all around the world and you can see why; 18 KO’s from his last 19 fights! He is absoloutely huge for the weight and theres no doubt he’ll go up to middleweight in the future. He is an aggressive pressure fighter and he displayed this style to the world as he absolutely annihilated Sadam Ali in four one sided rounds to become the new WBO champ is his last fight. Liam Smith I feel is a decent fighter but not truly a world level one, more European to be honest The one time he did test the waters at the elite level was against Canelo Alverez and he lost as expected. I expect he’ll hold his own for the first half the fight before being worn down by the sheer aggressivness of Munguia. Smith’s trainer, Joe Gallager, is not very inspirational so when the sh*t does begin to hit the fan he’ll only be dishing out rudimentary advice in the corner. I can’t see this going the distance, at some stage Smith will get caught by something big and that will be that.

Hello kf, just curious how much do you stake on the goliaths you back and what sort of returns do you see when you get say 6/8, 7/8 or a full house.
Hi @crowe…I usually do it for 10p = (£24.70), unless I feel particularly confident then I will do 20p = (£49.40). To be honest, I frequently get 6/8 and 7/8 and this morning had an 8/8 on the early morning Aussie football (Didn’t post as only just got on before games started). That was for 10p and I got just over £100 return as odds quite short. I then did a mid-morning one for £49.40 (Thailand/Indonesia/Singapore and a couple of others) and got 7/8 – my £49.40 returned £134. Then I did the one above and posted it. As you can see I got 6/8.
In reality, dependant on odds, you need at least 6/8 to get money back (and maybe a small profit), 7/8 for a decent profit and an 8/8 for good money. They take a long time to research, which is why I don’t post that many. I have has several 8/8, but never posted one on here yet….the law of sod, I guess

Just to add, I have made more money following the regulars on here (GB, Scott, Jordan, MrF, Hull) and others like DC John Boy, Alex Macarthured, crane, Alaves…the list goes on. Better to stick with them than try this unless your betting bank can take it.
