Celtic will look to bounce back from their League Cup exit to Rangers on Sunday as they welcome Ferencvaros to Celtic Park on Thursday night in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Martin O’Neill’s have scored 22 goals across their opening 10 matches in all competitions, with nine (41%) of them coming across their four home matches.
Prior to their 3-0 thrashing at Ibrox on Sunday, the Hoops had found the back of the net in each of their opening nine fixtures this term – scoring 2+ goals in six (67%) of them – and will be expected to breach a Ferencvaros backline that has conceded in 3/4 of their Europa League qualifiers on the road.
Balazs Borbely’s visitors have scored 26 goals across their opening 15 domestic and European fixtures this season, with 18 (69%) of them coming across their last five matches.
Like their hosts, the Green Eagles have blanked just once in all competitions this season – scoring on multiple occasions in each of their past five – and will look to trouble an unconvincing Hoops backline that has shipped 10 goals across their last six matches.

Celtic come into this clash as favourites, but given how vulnerable they have been defensively against stronger opposition, I much prefer to back goals, with both teams contributing.
The Hoops’ last nine matches in all competitions have averaged an eye-catching 3.56 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in eight (89%) of them.
Over 2.5 Goals has paid out in 10/15 (67%) of Ferencvaros’ matches in all competitions this season – including in each of their last five – whilst 3/4 (75%) of their continental road trips have seen both teams oblige.
