The Champions League is back and what a couple of ties we have to kick-off the round of 16.
PSG came up short in last season's edition of the competition and have rung the changes in the dugout in search of their first European trophy since 1996. Mauricio Pochettino, himself a beaten finalist in the Champions League in the 2019 competition, is in the hot seat at the Nou Camp for his first European match in charge of the French champions
Barcelona haven't been at their best this season and revenge will be on PSG's minds in lieu of their embarrassing exit on their last visit to Catalonia when Barca overturned a 4-0 first-leg loss with a dramatic come-back. Poch's men are 1/1 to qualify and even without Neymar could be worth a shot.
RB Leipzig and Liverpool meet in Budapest and money has come for the Germans despite the neutral venue but they still look good value at 19/10 given Liverpool's current form. The Reds have won just two of their last eight and face a Leipzig side that sits second in the Bundesliga.
Klopp's men at 13/10 favourites make no sense based on the relative form of either side.
Tuesday's Football Tips
As well as the Champions League there's a whole host of matches in the lower leagues in England. Jamie Kennedy has pulled together an Acca that takes in a match in each of the Championship, League One, Two and the National League.
Watford hammered Bristol City at the weekend but their away form has been patchy to say the least, just three wins in 14 away from Vicarage Road, scoring just seven goals and failing to score at all in eight of those. Preston, who won well at Blackburn on Friday are big at 16/5. Preston Double Chance is 8/11.
Promotion-chasing Portsmouth should win at managerless Bristol Rovers, who are on an awful run in League One and there should be goals at Blackpool where entertaining Rochdale are the visitors. Evens for 30+ PSG booking points looks good value to me given that they had 13 yellows and 2 reds during their 6 group games and if you look at their games against the minnows of that group Istanbul they only got 2 bookings from those 2 games. They got 3 and 2 yellows against United in their two games and then 5 yellows in a game v leipzig and 5 yellows plus 2 reds in the other (Gueye and Kimpembe both sent off for two yellows).
