With the title race having been blown wide open by Wolverhampton Wanderers' comeback against Arsenal on Wednesday, the Premier League returns this weekend with their two immediate rivals looking to close the gap to the Gunners.
Among the five matches to be played on Saturday are Aston Villa's home encounter against Leeds United in the afternoon and the 8pm kickoff featuring Manchester City playing host to Newcastle United, who scored six times against Qarabag FK in the Champions League earlier this week.
The other three fixtures feature teams who are vying for the European spots and attempting to avoid relegation to the Championship.

Today's Premier League betting tips and predictions
Aston Villa vs. Leeds United (3pm)

Tipster: Grant Heaney
Aston Villa will be targeting back-to-back home wins in the Premier League when they host Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

Tip 1: Both teams to score
This selection would have been the correct call in seven of Leeds' previous eight Premier League away games, including each of their last three.
The case for siding with this selection is strengthened by the fact that both nets have bulged in five of Aston Villa's last eight home games across all competitions.
Some bookmakers will have this bet priced at 4/5.
Tip 2: Ollie Watkins to score or assist
Four of Ollie Watkins' eight Premier League goals this season have arrived in his last eight appearances, and 4/5 for a goal or assist from the England international appeals here.
Tip 3: Gabriel Gudmundsson to commit 2+ fouls
Gabriel Gudmundsson has committed exactly two fouls in five of his last seven Premier League appearances, so 11/8 feels worth a punt.
Brentford vs. Brighton & Hove Albion (3pm)

Brighton and Hove Albion have been in Premier League freefall and boss Fabian Hurzeler badly needs a positive result when they travel to Brentford.

Tip 1: Over 10.5 corners
We saw 11 corners when these sides last faced off and there could be some value in backing over 10.5 corners at 11/10.
Tip 2: Sepp van den Berg assist
Brentford have scored a lot of goals from long throws so it could pay to back one of their centre backs at long-odds for an assist as they might get first contact on the deliveries.
Sepp van den Berg is priced at 22/1 for an assist.
Chelsea vs. Burnley (3pm)

Chelsea will look to climb up into fourth position in the Premier League table on Saturday afternoon as they welcome relegation-threatened Burnley to Stamford Bridge.

Tip 1: Joao Pedro to score anytime
Liam Rosenior seems to be getting the best out of Joao Pedro, with the Brazilian scoring six goals across his nine appearances since the Englishman took over from Enzo Maresca.
That includes the opener in the Blues’ draw with Leeds United in their last Premier League outing, and the 11/10 on offer at William Hill for the ex-Brighton attacker to score again on Friday night appeals to me.
Tip 2: Chelsea to win and both teams to score
Chelsea come into this clash having won seven and lost just one of their previous nine matches in all competitions (W7-D1-L1), and should be too strong for their struggling visitors.
However, the Blues are far from watertight at the back, recording a solitary shutout across their past 10 Premier League encounters, shipping 2+ goals in four of their last five at the Bridge.
Despite their struggles, Burnley have found the back of the net in 10 of their past 12 Premier League encounters on their travels, and the 17/10 on offer at bet365 for a Chelsea Win & Both Teams to Score appeals to me.
West Ham United vs. Bournemouth (5.30pm)

Tipster: Greg MacLean
West Ham United will look to give their survival hopes a real boost as they welcome in-form Bournemouth to the London Stadium in the teatime slot on Saturday.

Tip 1: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals
Both of these clubs arrive in this fixture in good form, and I’m expecting an entertaining encounter, with the 4/5 on offer at Betfred for Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals standing out to me.
Since the beginning of last season, Bournemouth’s 32 Premier League contests on their travels have averaged an eye-catching 3.72 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in an impressive 25 (78%) of them, whilst 23 of their last 27 and 25 of their previous 31 have produced three or more goals.
West Ham’s opening 13 Premier League encounters in front of their supporters this campaign have averaged an eye-catching 3.38 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in nine (69%) of them – including in each of their last four and seven of their past nine (3-1, 3-2, 0-2, 2-3, 0-1, 2-2, 1-2, 3-1 & 1-1) – whilst nine (69%) have also gone Over 2.5 Goals.
Tip 2: Crysencio Summerville to score or assist
Crysencio Summerville’s performances in the last few matches are one of the major factors in West Ham’s recent upturn in form.
The ex-Leeds United attacker has scored six goals and provided an assist across his last seven appearances for the Hammers – including the opener against Manchester United and the winner against Burton Albion in the FA Cup last Saturday – and the 13/10 on offer at bet365 for him to Score or Assist on Saturdays appeals out to me.
Tip 3: Rayan to score or assist
Rayan has made quite the impact at Bournemouth since joining from Vasco da Gama last month, as he’s provided a goal contribution in each of his opening three Premier League matches.
That includes goals in back-to-back games at home to Aston Villa and away at Everton, and the 6/5 on offer at bet365 for the Brazilian to Score or Assist on Saturday also appeals.
Manchester City vs. Newcastle United (8pm)

Manchester City host Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium, with both sides chasing strong finishes in the top half. With Arsenal dropping points on Wednesday night, City are now back in the title race.

Tip 1: Man City win and under 4.5 goals
Manchester City to win and under 4.5 goals (11/10) aligns with both teams’ underlying profiles. City’s home dominance is clear. They average 2.46 goals scored per home game and concede just 0.62, with seven clean sheets in 13 at the Etihad. Their home shot data shows 5.77 shots on target for and 2.77 against, alongside 11.23 shots inside the box for and 5.54 against, reinforcing territorial control.
Newcastle’s away numbers suggest competitiveness without consistent high scoring. They average 1.00 goal per away match and concede 1.31. In the last four away fixtures they post 1.67 xG and 1.36 xGA, with 10.0 shots inside the box for and 8.0 against. Across the last eight overall, Newcastle matches average 6.85 total xG combined, indicating chances at both ends but not extreme scorelines.
