West Ham United will look to give their survival hopes a real boost as they welcome in-form Bournemouth to the London Stadium in the teatime slot on Saturday.
West Ham missed the chance to go within one point of 17th-placed Nottingham Forest in their last Premier League outing, as they conceded in the 96th minute to draw 1-1 at home to Manchester United.
Nevertheless, the Hammers have now taken 10 points from their past five Premier League outings (W3-D1-L1) to boost their survival hopes, with their only defeat coming at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea in a match they led 0-2 – on an evening both of my selections landed.
Following that draw against the Red Devils on the Tuesday before last, Nuno’s men squeezed into the fifth round of the FA Cup, as they required extra time to defeat League One strugglers Burton Albion 0-1.
Bournemouth’s fine run of form continued last time out, as they came from a goal down to defeat David Moyes’s Everton 1-2 on Merseyside.
Andoni Iraola’s men are now unbeaten in each of their previous six Premier League outings (W4-D2-L0) – including recording back-to-back away wins for the first time this season – moving the Cherries up into ninth position in the table, just five points behind sixth-placed Liverpool.
How the bookies view it: West Ham slight favourites
West Ham are slight favourites to record their fourth win from their last six Premier League outings, with bet365 pricing a home success at 27/20.
Bournemouth are 9/5 to claim a third consecutive Premier League victory away from home, whilst the draw is 27/10.
Head to head: Nine unbeaten for the Hammers
West Ham are unbeaten in each of their previous nine Premier League meetings with Bournemouth (W3-D6-L0), with the last five ending all square, including a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture at the Vitality in November.
Players to watch: Summerville to strike again?
Crysencio Summerville’s performances in the last few matches are one of the major factors in West Ham’s recent upturn in form.
The ex-Leeds United attacker has scored six goals and provided an assist across his last seven appearances for the Hammers – including the opener against Manchester United and the winner against Burton Albion in the FA Cup last Saturday – and the 13/10 on offer at bet365 for him to Score or Assist on Saturdays appeals out to me.
Rayan has made quite the impact at Bournemouth since joining from Vasco da Gama last month, as he’s provided a goal contribution in each of his opening three Premier League matches.
That includes goals in back-to-back games at home to Aston Villa and away at Everton, and the 6/5 on offer at bet365 for the Brazilian to Score or Assist on Saturday also appeals.

Predicted line-ups:
West Ham will be without the injured Pablo Felipe and the suspended Freddie Potts.
Bournemouth are still missing the injured Justin Kluivert and Ben Gannon-Doak, whilst Marcus Tavernier is a doubt.
West Ham United: Hermansen, Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Disasi, Diouf, Soucek, Magassa, Summerville, Fernandes, Bowen, Castellanos
AFC Bournemouth: Petrovic, Jimenez, Hill, Senesi, Truffert, Scott, Toth, Rayan, Christie, Adli, Evanilson
Anything else catch the eye?
Both of these clubs arrive in this fixture in good form, and I’m expecting an entertaining encounter, with the 4/5 on offer at Betfred for Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals standing out to me.
Since the beginning of last season, Bournemouth’s 32 Premier League contests on their travels have averaged an eye-catching 3.72 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in an impressive 25 (78%) of them, whilst 23 of their last 27 and 25 of their previous 31 have produced three or more goals.
West Ham’s opening 13 Premier League encounters in front of their supporters this campaign have averaged an eye-catching 3.38 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in nine (69%) of them – including in each of their last four and seven of their past nine (3-1, 3-2, 0-2, 2-3, 0-1, 2-2, 1-2, 3-1 & 1-1) – whilst nine (69%) have also gone Over 2.5 Goals.
