Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day once again sees me focus on the European semi-finals, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in another one of the ties.

A week on from their narrow win at Vallecas, Rayo travel to the Stade de la Meinau to take on Strasbourg in the second leg of their Conference League playoff tie in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Gary O’Neil’s hosts have scored 21 goals across their opening 13 Conference League fixtures this season, with 10 (48%) of them coming across their last four on home soil.
Le Racing have found the back of the net in each of their past five continental clashes in front of their supporters – scoring on multiple occasions in three of the last four – and will be confident of breaching a Rayo defence that is without a clean sheet in each of their past five away matches in Europe, shipping 2+ goals in three (60%) of them.
Inigo Perez’s visitors have scored 26 goals across their opening 13 Conference League contests this term, with 10 (38%) of them coming across their six road trips.
Los Franjirrojos have blanked just twice across those 13 European matches (both at home) – scoring on multiple occasions in eight of their past 12 – and will look to trouble a Strasbourg backline that has kept just two clean sheets across their previous 12 Conference League ties.

Rayo’s matches in Europe this campaign have been full of goals, with their previous 10 continental clashes averaging 3.10 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in eight (80%) of them, including in each of their past five away from home (2-2, 1-2, 2-1, 3-1 & 1-3).
Over 2.5 Goals has also paid out in three of Strasbourg’s last four European matches on home soil, and I’m happy to take a chance on that trend continuing in Alsace on Thursday night.
