The Manchester Derby sets us up nicely for a cracking day of football in the lunchtime kick-off at Old Trafford.
United are a huge 4/1 to win – almost unheard of for the Red Devils at home. Despite Man City's recent dominance of English football United have only lost one of the last five derbies (W3 D1 L1) and you have to ask if Pep Guardiola's side are worthy of being 4/6 favourites away to their rivals?
A 2-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace last week followed an unexpected exit from the Carabao Cup at the hands of West Ham has raised a few questions at the Etihad and they'd have wanted to have been in better shape for their trip across Manchester.
United can draw level on points with City if they win and with the irrepressible Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks anything is possible. The Portuguese superstar bailed out Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side once more in midweek in Italy with two goals and he's 21/10 (SBK) to find the net again. Well are five without a win but the topsy turvy nature of the Premiership this means it's tough to have confidence in the Dons to get the job done.
Hearts v Dundee Utd is match of the day at Tynecastle. The Jambos lost their first league game of the season last week but it's been on the cards after a series of draws and they've won just two in eight now. Dundee Utd are level with them on points and you couldn't rule out a win for them at 9/2.
The day's other Premiership match is a battle of the Saints but don't expect a classic. Three of the last seven meetings between St Johnstone and St Mirren have finished 0-0 and five of those seven have been Under 1.5 Goals. No goalscorer pays 6/1 while Under 1.5 Goals is 7/4.

Much like Liverpool, this lands most Chelsea home games. 3/5 so far and the 2 that didn’t in one they were just a corner short, the other they lost 1-0 to city. With 4 of the chasing packing going head to head and slitting each other’s throats this is a good opportunity for the blues to take 3pts and watch others fall.
I always find the championship pretty tough, but Fulham are on fire. 5 wins and 20 goals in their last 5 is good in any league but all the more impressive given the championship is a constant grind of Saturday-midweek-Saturday and there’s very few if any “easy” games.
In Scotland top of league one Queen’s Park take on bottom boys east fife. The spiders have hit a bit of a dip and only won 2 of their last 8, but they’ve scored 2+ in 5 of those and face an east Fife side who have lost all 6 away games conceding 22 goals and 2+ in all 6. (And 3+ in 5) They also conceded 2+ in 2 of their 3 cup games this season as well.
Smaller stake bets
An unbeaten bundesliga record goes on the line today when Bayern take on Freiburg but it’s not for the home men. The visitors are in fine form coming into this one, and have the best defensive record in the league. I can see that run ending today but not without a fight and they’ve managed to net in the last 6 games against Bayern picking up 4 draws. The men from Bavaria are hardly watertight at the back this season conceding 9 in their last 3 games and only recording 3 league clean sheets from their 10 games so far so I’m going for a home win and both teams to score.
As mentioned above east Fife have conceded 3+ in 5 of their 6 away league outings this season so I’m having a small pop on queens to net 3 as well. Good luck today folks.

The Manchester derby – a fixture steeped in history and a chance for the Blue half of the city to clash with the Red half of London.
Who knows with United at the moment – they are good but crap at the same time with a cracking squad on paper but the consistency of weak tea and management that couldn’t lift the skin off a rice pudding.
For all City’s strength, you just don’t know what you’ll get with them either, they could hit 6 or they might not turn up.
For these reasons and more (it’s a derby after all so everything will probably go out of the window) I’m steering clear of WDW and goal markets and opting for corners and cards.
