Yesterday was a winning day for the sole selection, Do Your Job. We were very fortunate to win the race, and I don't think he would've won if the leading two horses didn't fall/unseat. Thankfully both horses got up okay.
Aintree 2:15
For the first time of the new season they go over the National fences and as we've seen on many occasions before, experience over these obstacles can be very key as they are much different to the normal fences they face at other venues. With that being said, I am siding with a horse who has ran well over these fences before, and has ran well in this race. SIR JACK YEATS will love the soft ground at Aintree today and has been placed on a few occasions when running fresh, so could outrun his odds.
Sir Jack Yeats was second in this race last year, when finishing 5L behind the winner, Beau Bay. That day he was 23L lengths ahead of Senior Citizen, who also reappears in this race, but SJY has a much better pull at the weights this time. His form took a bit of a dip in the middle part of the season and his most recent run came at this track when he finished 5th of 26 at the Grand National Meeting. That wasn't a great run by any means, but the winner was impressive, and the selection was pitching away for the majority of the race before getting tired late on. He has been dropped 5lbs for that run, and he will be primed and ready for this race and will be fresh after a 200+day break. The soft ground will be an inconvenience to many in this race, but it won't effect the chances of him as he handles all types of ground and has won on heavy.
There are some good level horses in this, but they will carrying quite heavy weights and will be making their debuts over these fences, so I think they can be dodged. Senior Citizen has ran over these fences before and has close form tied in with Sir Jack Yeats, but he has had a recent run. Though the recent run by be an advantage, he won that race and has been put up 5lbs for it, and he might also prefer a quicker surface.
The pace is in this race could be interesting, as the selection will more than likely be setting the fractions. Considering he is carrying quite a low weight in comparison to many of the market fancies, the fact he can front run and get into a nice rhythm could be key.

A repeat of its last run and she won’t be far away, she is race fit unlike the rest and gets a handy 5 pound allowance too.
Up in grade but Summerville boy, lisnagar Oscar and if the cap fits could be vulnerable to this up and coming lady.
Wouldn’t write off the win hence the extra each way dabble.

Most Fascinating Race of the day for me.
Grand Prix D’automne Hurdle – Grade 1
Distance: 2m 7f 189y.
I’ve said a few times I wonder how the French winning machine l’automonie would get on against the best of British, today we might see some answers.
L’automonie has reeled off countless wins over various distances with Paul’s saga and galop Marin usually seeing her arse as she romps to victory.
But in last year’s renewal in this race galop Marin won, Paul’s saga 2nd and 1-4 favourite l’automonie was 3rd beat 12 lengths, so though odds on today it’s no gimme that she will beat the other 2, who are both 10-1 today.
L’automonie has beat these 2 here over 3 miles here this season though and is a better horse now.
The British interest is that Phillip Hobbs sends over one of my favourite horses THYME HILL for his seasonal bow.
I don’t know why he has chosen this for his bow but I would hope he isn’t just sending him over for just a day out.
Thyme hill has won 1st time out the last 3 seasons and acts in today’s promised testing ground.
He missed Cheltenham with a slight injury setback in march but turned up at aintree in April and won the 3 mile 1 Ryanair stayers hurdle.
One drawback is thyme hill gives away 5 pounds to the mare.
I’ve got to go with thyme hill in the hope that he is 100% ready to go as I believe on a level playing field he is better than the frogs.
