Burnley host Tottenham Hotspur in a midweek English Premier League fixture with both teams looking to build on impressive wins last time out. The hosts have a stubborn streak about them but Tottenham’s extra quality should give them the upper hand here.
Burnley were in fine form last time out as they thumped Brighton 3-0 in their previous Premier League fixture. They made a fast start and raced to an early lead through Wout Weghorst while Josh Brownhill and Aaron Lennon added further goals.
It was only the second win of the season for Burnley but still enough to take them off the foot of the table. Sean Dyche’s men are now just five points from safety and crucially, have played two games less than some of the teams above them.
One problem that still remains for Burnley is their poor home record having claimed just one win at Turf Moor all season. Their previous fixture in front of their fans was a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Tottenham Hotspur were also victorious in their previous Premier League fixture as they won 3-2 at Manchester City. Dejan Kulusevski opened the scoring on his full debut while Harry Kane grabbed a brace in an impressive performance from the visitors.
A victory against the reigning champions and league leaders is always a major confidence boost but more importantly the result ended a run of three straight defeats for Tottenham. It also keeps them alive in the top four race as they are now five points behind fourth placed Manchester United having played two games less.
The win at the Etihad was also the third win in four Premier League away matches for Spurs, who have fared better on the road lately. Another positive for manager Antonio Conte is the performance of Harry Kane, who looked to be back to his old self with a well taken brace.

Tottenham Hotspur have the upper hand in recent matches with Burnley and are unbeaten in the last five meetings, claiming four wins in that run. Spurs claimed a 1-0 victory on their last visit to Turf Moor in a League Cup clash in October.
Players to watch
January signing Wout Weghorst is finally off the mark for Burnley after netting the opener at Brighton. The Dutch striker will be keen to go on a scoring run and is priced at 5/2 with Skybet to find the net on Tuesday.
