Welcome back to MFT’s 10-1,000 betting challenge, where we aim for a 100x return on the original investment via a small stake betting strategy, prioritising low risk and low odds en route to a long-term target.
We completed the challenge last time out and how route to 1,000 can be found here: MFT 10 – 1000 Betting Challenge: Complete: This is how we did it.
We have now won our last 24 bets across the two challenges.
While this column is dedicated to high-probability tips, there is no guarantee of profit. If playing along, you should consider your own budget and confidence in the tip provided, and make your own decision whether to follow, cash out or continue at every stage. 18+, please gamble responsibly.
We will use a unit system for our stakes, allowing readers to set their own unit value that suits their own budget. For the sake of simplicity, for us, 1 unit = £1.
We will continue to transparently track our progress as far as we go on the path to 1,000, but will refresh our main tracking stake back to the starting point every time we surpass 100 units – a 10x ROI. As per our own rules we reset the betting balance back to 100 units on Bet17.
For the sake of consistency, all tips are placed using odds from bet365. It worth pointing out that with Bet365 we can paid out if our selection goes into a lead by two or more goals.
West Brom scored after just 16 minutes on Wednesday night as they won 1-0 at Derby to ease us onto bet 3.
Bet 3 – West Ham vs Wrexham – Friday 11th September at 8pm
West Ham United meet Wrexham after both sides produced at least two goals in their midweek fixtures. The Hammers won 3-2 at Bolton Wanderers, while Wrexham drew 1-1 with Burnley at the Racecourse Ground.
West Ham provide the strongest support for over 1.5 goals. Their six Championship matches have produced 23 goals, an average of 3.83 per game. They have scored 14 and conceded nine, with every fixture containing at least two goals. Five have gone beyond this line and produced three or more.
The underlying numbers support those results. West Ham average 2.18 xG and 1.15 xGA, creating an expected-goal total of 3.33 per match. Their attacking output rises to 2.89 xG at home, where they have scored in every game and recorded victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Derby County.
Wrexham have been more controlled, allowing only 0.91 xGA per game and keeping two clean sheets. Their matches have still produced 12 goals, while the visitors have scored in five of their six fixtures.
The recent results provide two clear routes to the selection. West Ham have scored three goals in consecutive matches, while Wrexham have found the net against Burnley, Millwall and Birmingham City. Even if the visitors struggle to create, West Ham’s home attacking average puts a 2-0 or 3-0 result firmly in play.
Only 0-0, 1-0 or 0-1 would lose. The available data makes each outcome less likely than a match containing at least two goals.
