Kilmarnock vs Hibernian
SPFL Premiership. Kick off: 3pm, Saturday 1st December
MOST of the attention on the Scottish card this weekend will be on the Super Sunday double header as Hearts entertain Rangers before Celtic and Aberdeen face off in the Betfred Cup Final.
But Hibernian's trip to Rugby Park a day earlier is every bit as intriguing as those two huge matches with Neil Lennnon's men bidding to get out of their surprise slump.
The Hibees were being talked about as genuine title contenders before a thrilling 4-2 defeat at Celtic Park sparked a dramatic loss of form.
Since then, Hibs have picked up just two points from four league games so they need to get back on track in Ayrshire this weekend.
However, as almost every side in Scotland has discovered since Steve Clarke took over at Kilmarnock, Rugby Park has become one of the toughest venues to collect any points.
Few teams are as well-drilled as Killie are under Clarke while their dreadful plastic pitch can knock even the slickest sides out of their stride.
But Clarke's men have also hit a sticky patch, winning just one of their last five games, and that's reflected in the odds, with both teams 8/5 to win with 888 Sport and the draw 12/5.
Hibs had the edge in this fixture last season, winning 3-0 and 5-3 with the other two games drawn, and also beat Killie 3-2 in their first meeting this term.
That suggests they might just get back on track here so try doubling an away win with both teams to score which is 24/5 with 888 Sport. In such a tight game it might also pay to back the draw with both teams to score at 19/5.
Killie winger Jordan Jones has yet to find the net this season and could be due a goal so back him at 5/1 in the anytime scorer market. I also like the look of Greg Stewart at 5/2 in the same market.
Florian Kamberi has been off the boil for Hibs recently, drawing a blank in his last three games, but the striker remains their biggest threat. He looks good value at 5/1 for first scorer and 43/20 for anytime scorer.
Recommended bets
- Hibs win and both teams to score 24/5 (888 Sport)
- Jordan Jones anytime scorer 5/1 (888 Sport)
- Florian Kamberi first scorer 5/1 (888 Sport)
