Following another winner on Monday night, SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of Real Madrid's clash with Real Sociedad in La Liga on Wednesday night.
Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad (Wednesday, 20:00)
Real Madrid and Real Sociedad will do battle at the Bernabeu in La Liga on Wednesday night.
The hosts come into this clash having kicked off Jose Mourinho’s second spell in charge with a dramatic 2-1 win over Espanyol at the weekend.
Real Sociedad, meanwhile, came away empty-handed from their opening game of the season after falling to a 1-0 defeat at Real Betis.
It’s no surprise to see Real Madrid priced up as heavy favourites here, with the home success as short as 3/10 on bet365.
I’ll instead focus on the foul markets, with Federico Valverde to commit at least one foul at 4/5 on bet365 looking to offer good value.
The Uruguayan is well-renowned for being a fierce competitor, and that should certainly remain the case now that he’s under Mourinho’s management.
Valverde was deployed in a central midfield role against Espanyol at the weekend and committed one foul during that contest.
He was averaging just 0.59 fouls per game in La Liga last season, but that doesn’t paint the full picture.
Indeed, across his final 11 outings in the Spanish top flight last term, Valverde committed a foul in seven of those matches.
It’s also worth pointing out that he picked up a yellow card and a red card across that same 11-game stretch.
Valverde could find himself up against a Real Sociedad midfield duo of Carlos Soler and Yangel Herrera, who between them won a total of three free-kicks on matchday one against Real Betis.
There’s also a possibility that Valverde could get dragged out wide, which could see him cross paths with tricky Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo, who was brought down on multiple occasions last time out.
