Friday’s football tips: Go for cards at 13/10 as Preston host Blackburn in Lancashire derby

Preston North End have the chance to move second in the EFL Championship tonight if they can win at home to Blackburn Rovers.

You have to go all the way back to the 1960s for the last time Preston graced the top flight but they're bang in the promotion hunt after three wins and a draw in their last four games.

Blackburn find themselves sitting 19th but Rovers have also picked up form, with three wins in their last four, so the stage is set for a cracking Lancashire derby.

With both teams in good form, this has the makings of a tight game and the last three meetings at Deepdale have all ended level. Another stalemate wouldn't be a surprise and it's priced 21/10 at BOYLE Sports.

The half-time draw is always a good option in derbies as neither team wants to make a mistake early on and it pays 20/21 tonight.

Last season's 0-0 draw at Deepdale boiled over, with the ref showing nine yellows and two reds. So it could pay to back a busy night for the officials.

Queen's Park vs Ross County

Ross County are having a terrible season in the SPFL Championship and badly need three points when they visit Queen's Park tonight.

The Staggies started the campaign as title favourites but they're in danger of a second successive relegation after winning just two of their 15 league games so far.

Tony Docherty's men currently sit second bottom but Queen's Park are only a point above them so a win tonight would lift County out of the drop zone.

The Spiders are unbeaten in their last three at home and almost came from 3-0 down to pinch a point at leaders St Johnstone on Saturday. So they could offer some value tonight at 11/4 while BOYLE Sports price them at a tempting 10/11 in the double chance.

Neither team has looked good in defence of late, with Queen's shipping 10 in their last three games and County conceding nine during the same run.

That points towards some goals tonight and combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays 23/20 at BOYLE Sports.

Valencia vs Levante

There's a derby in Spain's top flight tonight as well and the clash between Valencia and Levante is massive for Carlos Corberan.

The former West Brom boss did a great job at the Mestalla last season as he steered Valencia away from relegation trouble.

It looked like the fallen giants would push on this term but a horror run of seven La Liga games without a win has left them deep in trouble again.

There are claims Corberan has lost the dressing room and it's hard to see him surviving if Valencia lose their 150th derby clash with Levante.

The good news for him is that Levante are having an even worse season and sit second bottom of the pile.
