Following on from Wednesday’s winner in Vancouver, Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me continue to focus on the World Cup, and I’ve highlighted another goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Japan vs Sweden
🏆 World Cup
⏰ Friday 26 June, 00:00
Entertainment looks on the cards in Texas in the early hours of Friday morning as Sweden takes on Japan in the final round of matches in Group F.
Japan opened up their group campaign with a four-goal thriller with the Netherlands, as Hajime Moriyasu’s men twice came from behind to draw 2-2.
The Blue Samurai then put a hapless Tunisia to the sword, as they thrashed the North African side 4-0 to all but confirm their place in the knockout stages.
Sweden made a perfect start in Group F, as they also thrashed Tunisia, as they won by five goals to one.
However, Graham Potter’s men were brought straight back down to earth as they suffered a 5-1 thrashing of their own at the hands of the Netherlands – a scoreline that helped land last Saturday’s BOTD.

Bet of the Day
Sweden’s previous eight matches have now averaged a whopping 4.50 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in seven (88%) of them, whilst all eight (100%) have produced goals at both ends.
Both of Japan’s two matches have produced four goals, with the Blue Samurai scoring six of those eight goals.
Given that both nations will target all three points, I’m predicting another high-scoring encounter between them in Texas in the early hours of Friday morning.
- Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals
