SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of Scotland’s clash with Denmark on Tuesday night.
Scotland vs Denmark (Tuesday, 19:45)
Scotland and Denmark will conclude their World Cup qualifying schedule in Group C when they face off in a make-or-break clash at Hampden on Tuesday night.
I’ve already penned a Bet Builder column on this showdown but I’ve since identified a single selection that offers value.
Scott McTominay can be backed at 5/6 on Sky Bet to be fouled twice or more during this contest and that looks a little too big to ignore.
McTominay has been one of Scotland’s most talismanic figures in recent years, and his influence often leads to him being on the receiving end of some cynical and robust challenges.
In fact, the 28-year-old has drawn an average of 1.61 fouls per game across his five appearances for Scotland in Group C to date.
A deeper dig shows that McTominay has been fouled twice or more in three of his last four outings on the international stage, a sample that includes each of Scotland's previous two home games in Group C.
It’s also worth noting that McTominay earned his country a combined total of seven free-kicks across their two Nations League play-off ties with Greece earlier this year, with him being brought down on multiple occasions in each of those two matches.
What’s more, the Scotland star has also been singled out for some rough treatment in Serie A this season, evidenced by the fact that he has drawn a sizeable average of 2.66 fouls per 90 this term.
That knack for earning set-pieces for Napoli has also been on show in the Champions League this season, with McTominay reeling in one or more free-kick in each of his four outings to date, including two in during a recent away day at PSV.
The likelihood of McTominay running into Danish duo Morten Hjulmand and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg only adds to the appeal of supporting this particular selection.
The above-mentioned pair have both been regulars on the referee’s radar across Denmark’s opening five group games, particularly Hjulmand who has averaged 1.7 fouls per game.
With all that in mind, backing McTominay to be fouled twice or more at 5/6 (Sky Bet ) in a game of this magnitude is a selection that definitely represents value.
Recommended Bet
- Scott McTominay To Be Fouled 2 or More Times – 5/6 (Sky Bet)
