Having secured back-to-back wins at the weekend, I’ve come across another opportunity, and I’ve once again set my sights on a Brann fixture – this time their Conference League qualifying match against Apollon on Wednesday.

Brann vs Apollon (Thursday, 18:00)

At the weekend, we backed a Brann match again; I suggested betting on over 3.0 goals, which proved a winning strategy, and the match ended 3–2.

If you’ve been following the last few weeks, you’ll know that when I spot a team in form with a suitable run of fixtures, I like to make the most of it.

In their next match, they host last season’s third-placed side in Cyprus, Apollon, who are in equally good form. The Cypriots beat Dila Gori 7–0 on aggregate in the previous round and will certainly be fired up.

Just like most Norwegian teams, Brann’s matches are simply explosive from start to finish, and defence is far from a priority.

Every one of Brann’s last 15 matches has seen at least three goals scored. A full 14 of those 15 matches have also featured goals at both ends. The team’s fans have probably forgotten what a goalless match is, and I don’t think they’ll be reminded on Thursday.

Corners and cards aren’t a bad option either, but I’d recommend betting live. In my view, this is a far more evenly matched contest than the odds suggest, and it won’t be all that easy for Brann.

The bookmakers are currently offering around 13/20 for a Brann win, but I believe Apollon are explosive enough to score a goal, perhaps even the opener. And as I’ve already said, the home side’s defence hasn’t been anything to write home about in recent months, given that they’ve conceded 11 goals in their last five matches.

I’d say that both Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 have a similar chance in this fixture, and anything else would be considered a surprise. At the moment, Over 2.5 is available at higher odds if you prefer to bet on a single option.

I’m going to aim high by selecting the combined market on Bet365 for Over 2.5 & BTTS. Even if things go wrong and we see the exact opposite, I believe this is a mispriced bet offering too much value to pass up.

As a final, more extreme option – and more for fun, really – I’m thinking of backing both teams to score in the first half, which is currently available at 33/10.

Perhaps I’ll wait for an early goal for one of the teams and then place the bet live, or if nothing happens in the first half, I’ll go for BTTS in the second half. But in any case, it strikes me that this could turn out to be one of the most interesting matches on Wednesday and has great potential for a goal-fest.

Recommended Bet:

  • Over 2.5 & BTTS – 11/10 (Bet365)
