After making it four winners on the bounce in midweek, SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of Sunderland's clash with Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
Sunderland vs Chelsea (Sunday, 16:00)
Sunderland have enjoyed a brilliant first season back in the Premier League, and it could yet get even better if they can sign off the campaign with a win over Chelsea on Sunday.
Regis Le Bris’s side head into their final assignment of the season knowing that victory could be enough to secure a place in Europe next season.
Standing in their way is a Chelsea side who have endured a turbulent campaign, though they did move up to 8th place with a much-needed 2-1 win over Tottenham on Tuesday night.
A case could be made for either outcome here, so as I tend to do, I’m instead going to turn my attention to a player-based selection that stands out.
Dipping into the foul markets, Enzo Fernandez looks an attractive price to win two or more free kicks at 11/10 with PaddyPower.
The Argentine has arguably been Chelsea’s standout performer this season and is often right in the thick of the action in midfield.
That is reflected in his foul numbers, with Fernandez drawing an average of 1.31 fouls per game in the Premier League this season.
Last time out, Fernandez was fouled twice against Tottenham, and the same was also true of Chelsea’s most recent top-flight away trip at Liverpool.
Looking further back, the Blues ace has also been brought down on multiple occasions away at both Arsenal and Aston Villa during the closing months of the campaign.
Up against Sunderland at what should be a raucous Stadium of Light on Sunday, there is plenty of scope for that trend to continue.
Fernandez is likely to find himself in direct duels with Sunderland’s midfield trio of Granit Xhaka, Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki, all of whom tend to commit their fair share of fouls.
So with all things considered, Fernandez looks good value to be fouled at least twice again during this Stadium of Light showdown.
