Chelsea vs Manchester City (Sunday, 16:30)

Stamford Bridge will stage a heavyweight showdown in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as Chelsea play host to Manchester City.

Chelsea will be looking to breathe some much-needed life into their quest for Champions League qualification, having won just one of their last six Premier League matches, the most recent of which saw them suffer a heavy 3-0 defeat away at Everton.

As for Man City, they will be hoping their EFL Cup triumph and their 4-0 thrashing of Liverpool in the FA Cup can help get their Premier League title bid back on track.

Given the contrasting form of the pair, it's no surprise to see Pep Guardiola's side priced up as general 11/10 favourites at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

However, the Citizens have blown hot and cold in the Premier League in recent times, so I'm going to bypass the outright betting and instead switch my attention to a player-based selection that looks like good value.

A case could be made for a number of players in the foul markets, but Bernardo Silva to commit two or more catches the eye at 6/5 on bet365.

While the classy Manchester City midfielder is committing an average of 1.36 fouls per game in the top-flight this term, that doesn't tell the full story.

Upon closer inspection, it can be seen that Silva has a tendency to up his aggression when coming up against the division's elite sides.

That was evident in this season's reverse fixture when the Portuguese international was penalised on no fewer than five occasions, picking up a yellow card in the process.

In fact, that is one of a whopping 13 yellows and 1 red card that Silva has accumulated across his 43 appearances in all competitions this season.

It's also worth noting that Silva was guilty of no fewer than three offences in Man City's recent EFL Cup win over Arsenal at Wembley, while he overstepped the mark twice against Liverpool in the FA Cup last weekend.

The likelihood of Silva crossing paths with the likes of Moises Caicedo and Cole Palmer in the middle of the park – two players who are very adept at drawing fouls – only strengthens the case for siding with this selection at Stamford Bridge.
