SlipsTips shares a player-based selection ahead of Falkirk’s clash with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.
Falkirk vs Celtic (Wednesday, 19:45)
There are two key fixtures in the Scottish Premiership title race on Wednesday night, including one that will see defending champions Celtic travel to Falkirk.
Following Wilfried Nancy's dismissal at Celtic, Martin O'Neill returned to the dugout at the weekend and guided the Hoops to a 4-0 win over Dundee United.
However, victories for league leaders Hearts and Rangers mean Celtic still trail their title challengers by 6 and 3 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, 6th-placed Falkirk maintained their impressive form on their return to the top flight by claiming a 2-0 win away at St Mirren on Saturday.
With the aforementioned O'Neill back at the helm, it's no surprise to see the visitors priced up as heavy odds-on favourites on Wednesday night.
With that in mind, I’m turning to a player-based selection that I believe offers value.
Priced up at 4/5 on Coral and Ladbrokes, Leon McCann looks well worthy of support to commit a minimum of one foul during this contest.
While the Falkirk left-back has not been a frequent offender this season, he has fallen foul of the referee in two of the last four matches he has started.
McCann was shown a yellow card for a cynical foul against Hibs in one of those fixtures, which is also worth noting.
Now set to come up against a Celtic side that has been boosted by O'Neill's return, McCann and his teammates should have their work cut out on Wednesday night.
Moreover, McCann could find himself in a direct battle with Yang Hyun-jun, who has been one of Celtic's better performers in recent weeks.
The South Korean – who has scored in three of his last four outings – has drawn an average of 1.11 fouls per game in the Scottish top-flight this season.
A closer look shows that Yang has been brought down once or more in 7 of his last 11 Scottish Premiership appearances, including Saturday's 4-0 win over Dundee United.
So, with all things considered, the aforementioned McCann looks well worth siding with to commit at least one foul at the Falkirk Stadium on Wednesday night.
