An intriguing round of 16 tie takes place at the World Cup in the early hours of Tuesday morning as the USA and Belgium square off in Seattle.
The co-hosts have comfortably navigated their way to the last 16, topping their group and then producing a professional display to see off Bosnia with a 2-0 victory.
Belgium, on the other hand, laboured to top spot in Group G before coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Senegal, eventually winning 3-2 after extra time.
Jeremy Doku To Be Fouled 2+ Times
Belgium’s Jeremy Doku is a player who often finds himself on the receiving end of some rough treatment, and Tuesday’s clash with the USA should be no different.
Across his three World Cup appearances so far, Doku has been fouled heavily, winning 10 fouls in total, including four against Senegal last time out. The Belgian forward was also regularly brought down during World Cup qualifying, averaging 3.35 fouls won per game and earning his side multiple free-kicks in six of his eight outings.
Doku has been deployed on both flanks for Belgium across his three appearances so far, and he should give both Alex Freeman and Antonee Robinson plenty of problems, with the latter having committed a foul in two of his last three outings.
Tyler Adams To Be Fouled 1+ Time
For the second leg of what is a player-based Bet Builder double, I'm backing Tyler Adams to be fouled at least once.
The USA midfielder is more renowned for committing fouls than winning them, but his combative style and involvement in midfield battles often see him on the receiving end as well. That is underlined by the fact Adams has been fouled five times across his three World Cup appearances so far.
Likely to come up against Youri Tielemans, there is plenty of scope for that trend to continue. The Belgian midfielder was penalised on no fewer than four occasions against Senegal in the previous round.
