For the first of two player-based selections, I’ll back Cameron Devlin to commit a minimum of one foul. The tough-tackling Hearts midfielder tends to be in the thick of the midfield battle, and Sunday’s clash with Rangers should be no exception.
Moreover, Devlin has committed an average of 2.01 fouls per game in this season’s Scottish Premiership, falling foul of the referee in all but one of his 17 appearances.
The 27-year-old was guilty of no fewer than three offences during Hearts’ 2-0 win over Rangers earlier this season, and another terrier-like performance is to be expected from Devlin at Tynecastle on Sunday.
Connor Barron To Commit 1+ Foul
Connor Barron is another player who is sure to be one of the main protagonists in what promises to be an intense midfield battle in the Scottish capital on Sunday afternoon. His work-rate and tenacity in the middle of the park often see him overstep the mark. That is reflected by the fact that the Light Blues midfielder has committed an average of 2.08 fouls per 90 in the Scottish top flight this term, giving away at least one set-piece in 11 of his 14 outings so far.
It’s also worth noting that Barron has already racked up 6 bookings across all competitions this season.
Both Teams 3 or More Corners
I’ll round off what looks like a value even-money (1/1) Bet Builder by backing both teams to earn a minimum of 3 corners. Hearts and Rangers have been two of the standout corner teams in the Scottish Premiership this season, averaging 5.74 and 6.33 flag kicks per 90 respectively.
Both sides racked up three or more corners during Hearts’ recent away wins at Falkirk and Celtic, while Rangers and Hibs shared 10 corners at Ibrox on Monday night, with the pair forcing 5 apiece.
It’s also worth noting that a combined total of 14 corners (5-9) were taken during Hearts’ 3-1 win over Celtic at Tynecastle earlier this season, and we could be in for another action-packed encounter on Sunday.
