Things went from bad to worse for the Hoops on Thursday night as Ferencvaros put them to the sword in a 3-1 Europa League defeat at Celtic Park.
Emmanuel Fernandez To Commit 1+ Foul
For the first leg of what is a player-based double, I’m backing Emmanuel Fernandez to commit at least one foul.
The towering Rangers defender plays with plenty of physicality and can be prone to the odd lapse in concentration, both of which can land him on the wrong side of the referee.
Indeed, Fernandez has committed eight fouls across six Scottish Premiership appearances this season, overstepping the mark at least once in five of those outings.
That includes three against St Mirren in Rangers’ most recent league game, while he was also penalised once during last weekend’s Old Firm derby at Ibrox.
Camilo Duran To Be Fouled 1+ Time
The second leg of the Bet Builder ties in nicely with the first, as I’m backing Camilo Duran to be fouled at least once.
The classy Colombian has been one of Celtic’s standout performers this season, so it is no surprise that opposition players have been paying him plenty of close attention.
Duran has drawn a joint team-high six fouls across his six Scottish Premiership appearances and was brought down multiple times during last weekend’s Old Firm derby at Ibrox.
With a 60,000-strong Parkhead crowd behind them, Celtic should take the game to Rangers, and Duran is likely to be at the heart of their attacking play, making him a prime candidate to be fouled at least once.
The Celtic ace could also be deployed centrally, bringing him into direct contact with Fernandez and increasing his chances of drawing a foul.
