Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea
English Premier League, KO: 20:00 Nov 6, 2023, Tottenham Hotspur StadiumTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR and Chelsea round off the Premier League weekend with a mouth-watering London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday night.
Spurs kept up their remarkable start to the season with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Crystal Palace last Friday night, in a game that brought up my Selhurst Park selection.
That latest triumph means Ange Postecoglou's side remain one of only two teams that have yet to taste defeat in the top-flight this term.
Back at their north London base on Monday night, Tottenham will look to maintain their place at the top of the table by toppling city rivals Chelsea.
Just when the Blues finally appeared to be getting their act together after a sluggish start to the season, they were brought back down to earth with a bump when losing 2-0 at home to Brentford last Saturday.
As such, Mauricio Pochettino comes up against his former employers with his Chelsea side currently languishing down in 11th place in the Premier League table.
Outright Betting
Tottenham are 11/10 (William Hill) favourites to make it a perfect five wins from five at home in the Premier League.
Chelsea, who have won just three of their 10 top-flight matches this term, make the short trip across town as 5/2 (Bet 365) outsiders while a point apiece has been priced up at 13/5 (PaddyPower).
Betting Angles
Tottenham are an attractive betting proposition at the above-mentioned price but I’m going to instead opt for a 20/21 (Bet 365) Bet Builder and bundle up Tottenham to Score alongside both Yves Bissouma and Moisés Caicedo to commit a foul.
High-flying Spurs have scored in each of their 10 Premier League outings this season and they can continue their hot-streak in front of goal when they go up against a Chelsea team that are clearly far from the finished article.
The big-spending Blues have bagged just three clean sheets in ten top-flight outings this term to date, with their trio of shutouts coming against lesser lights Luton, Bournemouth and Fulham.
Therefore, Ange Postecoglou's hosts should have the attacking verve to take advantage of their London rivals defensive frailties by making the the net bugle at least once during this dust-up.
Given that both Yves Bissouma and Moisés Caicedo are no strangers to midfield battles, I’ll round off the Bet Builder by backing the aforementioned duo to commit a minimum of one foul each.
Spurs’ midfield destroyer Bissouma has already served a suspension in the Premier League this season due to his ill-discipline, not to mention he is averaging 1.2 fouls-per-game in the top-flight this term.
The Mali international will come up against Chelsea’s Moisés Caicedo who is also never shy of launching himself into a tackle, as evidenced by the fact the Ecuadorian enforcer is averaging 1.5 fouls per 90 in the Premier League this season.
Given that this fixture has thrown up some fiery encounters over the past few years, the aforementioned Bet Builder should again give us a good run for our money at 20/21 (Bet 365).
For reasons already outlined above, I’ll also back Tottenham to score two or more goals at 10/11 with William Hill.
This bet would have provided profit from nine of Spurs' opening 10 Premier League games of the season so the 10/11 (William Hill) about a repeat on Monday night is price that definitely represents value.
