Liverpool will look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth on Sunday.
The Reds recorded their first league victory under Andoni Iraola at the third attempt by beating Ipswich 2-0 a fortnight ago.
They were unable to build on that win last weekend, however, as Fulham held them to a surprise 0-0 draw at Anfield.
Liverpool produced an impressive response in midweek, though, defeating Tottenham 3-1 in the EFL Cup, with all three of my recommended selections landing in the process.
As for Bournemouth, they have made a solid, if unspectacular, start under Marco Rose, responding to their opening-weekend defeat at Man City with three successive Premier League draws, the most recent of which was a 2-2 shootout with Brentford.
However, the Cherries should head into this clash in high spirits after battling to a 2-1 Europa League win at Real Sociedad on Thursday night, a triumph that delivered a winning BTTS treble.
How the bookies view it: Reds to reign supreme
Bournemouth’s search for their first Premier League win of the season continues, and bet365 make them 21/10 outsiders to end that wait on Sunday.
Liverpool are 23/20 favourites with bet365, while the draw is available at 14/5 with the same firm.
Head to head: Reds rule the roost
Liverpool have dominated this fixture, winning 20 of the 26 meetings between the pair, with Bournemouth claiming just three victories and the other three encounters ending all square.
However, it is worth noting that the Cherries chalked up a 3-2 win in last season’s corresponding fixture, and a repeat of that scoreline on Sunday can be backed at a whopping 25/1 with bet365.
Players to watch: Szoboszlai worth a shot
Dominik Szoboszlai is never shy about pulling the trigger and has hit the target in three of Liverpool’s opening four Premier League games of the season. A repeat on Sunday appeals at 4/5 with bet365.
Tyler Adams is never afraid to get stuck in, and the Bournemouth midfielder looks good value to commit 2+ fouls at evens (1/1) with bet365.
Predicted line-ups
Injured quartet Amine Adli, Eli Junior Kroupi, Julian Araujo and Veljko Milosavljevic remain sidelined for Bournemouth.
Liverpool welcomed Joe Gomez back from injury in midweek, although Conor Bradley, Federico Chiesa, Giovanni Leoni and Hugo Ekitike are all still unavailable.
Bournemouth: Petrovic; Smith, Hill, Silva, Truffert; Scott, Adams; Rayan, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson
Liverpool: Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Szoboszlai, Gravenberch; Munoz, Wirtz, Barcola; Isak
Anything else catch the eye?
This should be an open contest, but BTTS is too short to side with as a single selection at 4/9 with bet365.
However, combining BTTS with each team to receive a card in a Bet Builder pushes the price out to a more attractive 20/23.
This combination has landed in four of Liverpool’s six matches across all competitions this season and all four of Bournemouth’s Premier League games.
