LIVERPOOL will look to ensure they remain hot on the heels of Premier League leaders Manchester City when they entertain West Ham United on Saturday evening.
Jurgen Klopp's side will return to league action riding the the crest of a wave after scooping the first piece of silverware of the season by defeating Chelsea in a dramatic penalty shootout at Wembley last weekend.
Fresh from winning the Carabao Cup, the Reds chief rotated his resources in midweek as his side booked their spot in the sixth round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Norwich.
The Merseysiders will now switch their attention back to the Premier League, with Klopp and Co desperate to keep up the pressure on Man City in the title race.
Meanwhile, West Ham got their quest for Champions League qualification back on track with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Wolves last weekend.
That victory saw David Moyes' men climb back into the top-five of the Premier League table, however the Hammers will head into this contest off the back of a 3-1 FA Cup defeat at Southampton on Wednesday night.
Outright Betting
Liverpool, who have won each of their last eight Premier League home matches, are unsurprisingly short-priced 3/10 (SBK) favourites.
West Ham toppled Liverpool in the reverse fixture but the same outcome here is an unfancied 19/2 (SBK) while a share of the spoils can be backed at a best 24/5 (SBK).

As already alluded to, Liverpool are enjoying a fine run of form at the moment but they can ill-afford to rest on their laurels on Saturday, on an evening where they will be presented with the opportunity to reduce the six-point gap between themselves and Man City at the summit of the top flight, at least temporarily.
Sure, the Reds are capable of ruthlessly cutting teams apart, but it's worth noting that nine of the hosts' 10 top-flight triumphs on home turf this term have gone under the 4.5 goal barrier.

With all this in mind, as well as Liverpool perhaps having one eye on their round of 16 second leg clash with Inter in the Champions League on Tuesday night, supporting a home success in a game that produces under five strikes holds appeal.
