LIVERPOOL lost on their last outing in the UEFA Europa League but should seal their place in the knockout stages by beating LASK Linz on Matchday Five at Anfield.
Like most punters, our man Mark banked on the Anfield giants winning in Toulouse but instead they crashed to a 3-2 defeat, although Jurgen Klopp's side did have a goal controversially ruled out in stoppage time.
Toulouse are now just two points behind Liverpool in Group E but it would be a major surprise if the Reds didn't top the section, with this Anfield clash with the Austrians followed by a trip to Belgium to take on Union Saint-Gilloise.
Klopp's revamped team are ticking along nicely in the Premier League, with a battling 1-1 draw at Manchester City on Saturday keeping them bang in the hunt for the title.
The Anfield boss has used the Europa League to give some fringe players game time and I'd expect a few changes when LASK Linz come calling.
Thomas Sageder's side sit bottom of the section but claimed their first win last time out, battering Union Saint-Gilloise 3-0 to keep their hopes of European football after Christmas alive.
LASK have won three of their last four games in all competitions so they head to Anfield in decent form but it would still be a massive surprise if they avoided defeat.
How the bookies view it
It's no surprise to see Liverpool as heavy favourites and their best price is just 1/9 at Bet365. LASK Linz are as big as 25/1 at Midnite and even the draw is hefty at 11/1 with BetUK.
Head to head
Liverpool's 3-1 victory in Austria earlier in this group was the first meeting of these sides. But the Reds have a good record against Austrian opposition, winning seven of their nine ties and losing just once.
Players to watch
It's hard to tell who will start up front for Liverpool with Klopp giving all of his forwards game time at some point in their Europa League campaign. Luis Diaz could start after coming off the bench at the Etihad and he's 6/4 at Paddy Power for anytime scorer while McBookie have him at 13/5 for an assist.
Robert Zulj has been in good form for LASK Linz, scoring in his last three outings. The experienced forward is a whopping 15/1 at Unibet for a goal and that might be worth a speculative punt given Liverpool have kept just one clean sheet in the group and keeper Alisson Becker is an injury doubt.
Anything else catch the eye?
We saw four goals when these sides faced off in Austria and this should be another open game. BTTS could be worth a punt at 17/12 with VBet while over 3.5 goals is a best 20/21 with Matchbook. Over 1.5 first-half goals is a little better as that pays 21/20 with Coral.
Going for corners could pay off as we saw 13 when these sides faced off in Austria. It was only 7-6 to the Reds on that count but I'd expect it to be more heavily slanted in their favour back on home soil. Backing Liverpool -5 in the corner handicap pays 27/25 at Unibet.
