Burnley vs Norwich City

, KO: 15:00 Oct 2, 2021, Turf Moor
Norwich City

BURNLEY will be looking to inflict more misery on a nightmare for Norwich City on their return to the English Premier League in a bottom v second bottom clash.

The Canaries have lost all six of their games in the top flight this season, but they don't appear to be too worried yet. That's largely down to a horror fixture list where they have already had to come up against Liverpool, Manchester City, Leicester City and Arsenal.

They would have presumably budgeted for not too many points anyway, but this is their bread and butter if they are to survive and not be relegated again.

Burnley have only two draws to show for their six games so far, but were a VAR injury time decision away from winning at Leicester City last week and they've not been thumped so far.

Sean Dyche's side have course and distance when it comes to survival and they are old masters when it comes to digging out points that mount up throughout the season.

But if their morale really doesn't want to plummet, it's imperative City pick up something in Lancashire.

How the bookies view it

Burnley are odds-on everywhere, although you can almost get evens with SBK's 13/14 price. The Carrow Road side are 7/2 with Betfred and the draw is 5/2 with Paddy Power.

Recent head to heads

Burnley won both of the games between the clubs home and away when the sides were last in the top flight togerther two seasons ago.

Here's the Turf Moor side winning 2-0 against Norwich at home.

Players to watch

Chris Wood was denied a winner last week at former club Leicester, but he's only three goals away from his 50th league goal for Burnley and is 5/4 at bet365 to get closer to the landmark. He has scored five goals in four starts against Norwich too.

Kenny McLean has been a regular scorer for Norwich since he moved from Aberdeen. He's overdue a league goal, since his only strike this season came in the League Cup. He's very big at 12/1 to score anytime with Unibet.

Anything else catch the eye?

Burnley look to be a team who will relish this. They are streetfighters and know exactly how to win important games like this against teams around them. A win here would be a huge blow for Norwich even at this stage of the season.

Norwich have lost in their last 16 top flight matches and failed to score in 13 of them. They've also conceded at least two goals in seven out of their last eight matches so the 17/20 with William Hill for them to score at least twice should come up.
