Partick Thistle will be aiming to continue their impressive start to their Scottish League Cup campaign when they welcome Stenhousemuir to Firhill on Tuesday night.
Mark Wilson's side have made a flying start to the group stage, opening with comprehensive victories over Brechin and Forfar before coming from behind to draw 1-1 with Livingston on Saturday and securing the bonus point with a penalty shootout victory.
Stenhousemuir have taken maximum points from their opening two matches after seeing off Forfar and Brechin, but Tuesday's trip to Firhill represents by far their toughest assignment to date.
Partick Thistle Win
For the opening leg of the Bet Builder, I'm backing Partick Thistle to come out on top. The Jags were an extremely tough nut to crack at Firhill last season, going through their entire Scottish Championship campaign unbeaten on home soil.
Mark Wilson's side appear to be gearing up for another title challenge and could even be better equipped to go all the way this time around. What makes this selection even more appealing is that Thistle know a victory on Tuesday night will secure top spot in their Scottish League Cup group and book their place in the knockout stages.
Stenhousemuir are unlikely to make life easy, but they only just got past Brechin at the weekend and now face a significant step up in class.
Over 1.5 Goals
For the second leg of the Bet Builder, I'm backing over 1.5 goals. Partick Thistle have been in excellent goalscoring form during their Scottish League Cup campaign so far, racking up 11 strikes across their three matches, including six against Brechin and four against Forfar.
Those sorts of numbers may be difficult to replicate against a Stenhousemuir side that now finds itself in the same division as the Jags, but there are still plenty of reasons to expect Wilson's men to find the net at least twice.
As mentioned, the Warriors were unable to keep Brechin at bay on Saturday, and their defence could be in for another difficult evening against a Partick side that has been scoring freely of late.
Goal Range 1–5
I'm going to wrap up the Bet Builder by siding with the goal range to be between one and five. In essence, we're backing Partick Thistle to win in a game that features between two and five goals.
That was the case during the Jags' 4-0 victory away at Forfar last week. As already touched on, it may not be quite as emphatic this time around, but Wilson's side should have enough quality in their ranks to secure a solid rather than spectacular success.
It's also worth noting that each of Stenhousemuir's opening two matches has featured between two and three goals, which only strengthens the case for a low-key Thistle victory.
Combined, these selections bring about a 4/5 Bet Builder that offers plenty of value.
