Arsenal vs Manchester City

, KO: 16:30 Oct 8, 2023, Emirates Stadium
Manchester City

ARSENAL and Manchester City round off the Premier League weekend with a blockbuster Super Sunday showdown at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta’s men continued their unbeaten start to the Premier League season by strolling to a 4-0 success at Bournemouth last Saturday.

However, Arsenal did suffer their first setback of the season when losing 2-1 at Lens in the Champions League in midweek, though Bukayo Saka’s assist bailed me out after I like many backed the Gunners to get the job done.

Back at their capital headquarters on Sunday, Arsenal will look to lay down a marker in the title race by toppling the reigning champions ahead of the international break.

After being dumped out of the Carabao Cup at Newcastle last midweek, Manchester City went on to stumble to a shock 2-1 defeat to Wolves last weekend.

However, Pep Guardiola’s star-studded side did get back in the winning groove with a well-deserved 3-1 win at RB Leipzig on Wednesday night

Outright Betting

Arsenal’s most recent Premier League home game with Tottenham ended all square and that outcome here can be backed at 5/2 (William Hill) while the Gunners are marginal outsiders at 2/1 (Bet 365).

Manchester City have triumphed in each of their last 12 Premier League meetings with Arsenal and the Sky Blues are 5/4 (Bet 365) favourites to extend that sequence on Sunday.

Betting Angles

The Emirates has been a happy hunting ground for goals-based backers this season and both of these big-hitters can play their part in another open and exciting encounter on Sunday.

Each of Arsenal's opening four Premier League home games of the season have featured a minimum of three match goals, with BTTS banking in each of those occasions.

That pattern of goal-heavy contests in the capital can be attributed to the fact the Gunners pack plenty of punch in the final third but can still be susceptible at the back.

In fact, the same could be said for a Manchester City side that have been far from their all-conquering selves this season, with Pep Guardiola’s side failing to keep the back door bolted in seven of their last eight outings across all competitions.

What's more, Over 2.5 Goal backers would have profited from six of the Citizens' last eight matches, not to mention the same wager would have yielded profit from six of Arsenal's last eight assignments.

Therefore, given the wealth of attacking talent that will be on display, coupled with the fact that neither defence has been reliable this season, siding with Over 2.5 strikes in North London on Sunday stands out at 20/23 (Bet 365).

Given the fact that Arsenal have failed to a keep a clean sheet home in the Premier League this season, I'll also back Manchester City's Erling Haaland To Score or Assist at an appetising 17/20 with PaddyPower.

The Norwegian goal-getter notched in both meetings against the Gunners last season and he looks worthy of interest to have goal involvement here at a backable price.

This match between Arsenal and Manchester City will be played on Oct 8, 2023 and kick off at 16:30. Check below for our tipsters best Arsenal vs Manchester City prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
