While this column is dedicated to high-probability tips, there is no guarantee of profit. If playing along, you should consider your own budget and confidence in the tip provided, and make your own decision whether to follow, cash out or continue at every stage. 18+, please gamble responsibly.

We will use a unit system for our stakes, allowing readers to set their own unit value that suits their own budget. For the sake of simplicity, for us, 1 unit = £1.

We will continue to transparently track our progress as far as we go on the path to 1,000, but will refresh our main tracking stake back to the starting point every time we surpass 100 units – a 10x ROI.

For the sake of consistency, all tips are placed using odds from bet365.

We got lucky with last nights bet. Arsenal were 2-0 up so Bet365 paid out on their early payout scheme with the other elements coming in. Onto Bet 2.

Bet 2 – Zrinjski vs Crystal Palace – Thursday 19th February 17:45

Crystal Palace to win is supported by both performance data and context around their season.

They finished 10th in the league phase with 10 points but ranked first on xPTS with 14.3. Their 14.8 xGF and 4.9 xGA produced a +9.9 xGD, the strongest profile in the competition. They created 25 big chances and attempted 106 shots, 35 on target, averaging 2.47 xG per game.

Zrinjski ended 23rd with seven points and rank 22nd on expected metrics with 7.1 xPTS. They have conceded 9.9 xGA and allowed 69 shots. Their defensive vulnerability was exposed in a 6-0 defeat at Dynamo Kyiv, a team Palace beat 2-0, underlining the difference in structure and control.

Palace are also unlikely to be drawn into a domestic relegation battle, which increases the importance of European progression. With fewer external pressures and the strongest underlying numbers in the field, they have clear incentive and quality to target a first leg advantage in Mostar.

  • Bet: Crystal Palace to win
  • Odds: 1/3
  • 15 units to return 20
