Racing tips: Rachael Blackmore and Willie Mullins team up in the last on the flat

Smart Boyo was well supported for his race (was tipped up by well known tipster, Hugh Taylor) but lacked the speed to get close to the winners, even though he stayed on quite strongly. Bookies were offering 4 places on that race, so hopefully you managed to do him EW.

Haydock 1:20

The form figures of INCA PRINCE don't fill you with confidence but there is more to it than those letters and numbers, and I think we'll see a lot of improvement for this drop in trip and this track could suit perfectly.

Inca Prince has been a runaway leader for most of the recent times as he is a bit of a nut-job to say the least. There's very little chance of calming him down and trying to restrain him would end in disaster so it is best off to let him crack on and be comfortable from the front. He was a decent juvenile hurdler, winning a couple of times and I can see why they are trying him on the flat as based on that stint over hurdles, he has ability. They tried him over 2m last time at York and he set a far too quick tempo and sure enough he got tired and finished last. They've decided to drop him 6f in trip and have applied the hood which seems a good combination. Haydock is a track where you often see front runners get away with it and can often be very tough to peg back. Richard Kingscote is the master of front running at Haydock and I've seen him do it enough times to think that this kind of tactic will be up the street of Inca Prince.

Hopefully we don't get any non-runners as with the 9 runners we are two horses away from reducing the EW places to two, and even though I'm confident of a big run, I'd prefer to play it safer and play EW on him.

As much as I wanted to go against FLOTUS in this I just can't do it as I think this is such a poor race and I do find it hard to believe that this horse has fell off in terms of ability from 2 to 3. This filly has so much speed it's frightening and she must've needed the run last time out at Newmarket as it was too bad to be true.

I'm willing to give her another chance and if she can't win this then I don't think she'll be getting my money again as this is weak and much weaker than what she was up against when she finished 2nd in a Group 1 at the back end of last season.

9/4 could be a very big price come this time tomorrow.

Curragh 8:15

I bet the vast majority of punters wasn't expecting to see this combination of jockey and trainer teaming up together on a flat meeting at Curragh on a Friday night, but Willie must really like the chances of ECHOES IN RAIN for him to book Blackmore for this flat ride.

This horse has bags of ability shown by the form she has over hurdles, with the recent 2nd to Honeysuckle being a top bit of form. I get the feeling Willie thinks this filly could be one of his Cesarewitch horses for later on in the season and he is getting her handicap mark up now so she can be high enough to enter this race as currently he rating of 83 leaves her a far bit short of what is required. This does look a relatively tough race but a horse who is rated 150 over jumps is surely better than her current handicap mark and the fact Rachael Blackmore is jocked up and is riding at the lowest riding weight she's done in the last 10 months, by 3lbs suggests this will be tough to beat. You'd like to think Willie could've called any of the jockeys in Ireland to ride this filly tomorrow, but he's gone for Rachael, it seems like they are very confident.

Rachael is also jocked up for one ride earlier in the day at Downpatrick which is in Northern Ireland, so even though she has plenty of time to get from one track to another, it's another confidence filler the fact she is willing to do that.
